Santa's Workshop: Inside China's Slave Labour Toy Factories : "Sometimes we have no choice, we work till dawn. When you work all night you become dizzy and your eyes hurt because you can't take any breaks." SANTA'S WORKSHOP takes you to the real world of China's toy factories. Workers tell us about long working hours, low wages, and dangerous work places. Those who protest or try to organize trade unions risk imprisonment. Low labour costs attract more and more companies to China. Today more than 75% of our toys are made in China. But this industry takes its toll on the workers and on the environment.

the documentary, didn't really answer any questions. i would have rathered they explained whose responsible for making their (the workers) lifes easier. is it the people who own and operate the factories? here in Canada, the factory owner, or business owner is responsible for wage increases, and working conditions, not the person(s) ordering the merchendise. unionizing wouldn't solve their problem, a pro-union movie like this, doesn't adress the larger picture, when in-fact greed, exists even in these trade unions. sadly, this documentary has a strong bias, and it comes across.. i prefer my movies, not to attempt to motivate my thoughts, and opinions.. all-in-all a good watch, worth the half hour, but not something i could use in any formal debate.

I sent a mass email of this to friends and posted it on Facebook. I will never eat at McDonald's again...and will make sure to check all the labels on toys that i buy. If i have to pay a higher price to make someone elses life better..then so be it. Could you imagine being a child working in one of the factories making toys for other kids half way around the world...and the wage you are paid could not even buy you the meal that toy comes with!! Just typing this is making me tear up again. Last year i watched two shows...Blood,Sweat and T-Shirts and Blood, Sweat and Takeaways. They both broke my heart as well and since then i have tried to make sure my clothing comes from my country as well. It is hard sometimes but if everyone did it....things would eventually change....though i guess it is hard to make a country that is not willing to change it ways change just because we do :(

Like you said lots of people care more about making a dollar than they do about the environment or human life.

Really interesting documentary. What I really don't understand is why major corporations ruin the environment all for a profit? Doesn't make sense at all.

tis all true yet they always get people standing up on TV saying yay we love it here then also there are many great buisiness oportunitess sure but at the great cost of the death of millions of people never spoken for. even this very film is anti propaganda for an sgenda but the truth behind is that government is always the problem and not the solution. if you say to the government that you want them to manage your affairs they will take youre life. your freedom is up to you and not the government. you can only be ruled by what you allow youselfs. dont forget the representative constitutional repulican form of government the US was before it become fascist and the people believe it to be a democracy which is a political concept and not a form of government.
