I said this last season and i'll say it again, the us version is 10 times better than the uk. They just did a better job at improving the storylines and special effects. Uk version went overboard long ago with having a vampire date a ghost and have ghosts be so human that you could get them confused as one or the other. Atleast they keep these creatures in a more realistic sense with much better characters being introduced.

They don't syndicate UK television to the US for several reasons. One is cultural. American tv execs are worried, and rightly so, that US audiences won't get much of the references that pervade British shows (Watch Top Gear and see if you understand or recognize every name they drop or joke they make there.) There's a lot of name dropping- members of Parliament, figures from British tabloids and media, things like that that would be beyond most yanks understanding. Secondly, most British tv shows have very short seasonal runs- here in North America, shows run for six or so months, in the UK, it's six or so weeks. A season of a dozen or half a dozen episodes is not unheard of over there. Personally, I'll give it benefit of the doubt. I thought the original two seasons were damned brilliant, maybe this will work out too. And history actually shows that US remakes of British shows tend to do quite well; Sanford and Son, Three's Company, All in the Family, the Office, all British shows, all brought to US markets, all did quite well.

This "US" version is actually Canadian. Its filmed in Canada, has many Canadian actors and is produced by Muse Entertainment, a Canadian company. It also uses both Canadian and Quebec film production tax credits.

I have to say this show really amazed me. I didn't think I would watch something like this but once I did, I couldn't miss one episode. They always surprise you with something at like the end of some of the episodes, but then you have to wait until next week to even see what's going down. :) This show is def a 5/5.

I thought this show had a very good season. The finale didn't leave me disappointed, and they left it open with a bit of a cliffhanger so that it keeps people interested and gets them to tune in for season 2. I was a bit thrown off by the baby part though, especially since Aidan said that werewolves are made not born, so that really confused me. Other then that, pretty decent first season!

For all of the people complaining about the US version and the British version I would just like to say this version is a North American production. Most of the actors are Canadian and the show is filmed in Canada. And who the hell cares which one is better?! Express your opinions but don't insult others (or their country) please.

lets judge movies and post comments by what we really think . not by where or country is better.... if you dont like the movie say why using more than 4 words sometimes the message gets lost

Definitely a good show but bbc version still better. BBC's is a darker show where syfy is more like a soap opera. the one thing bbc gets wrong is the seasons are short. 6 episodes, 8 episodes, and series 3 just another 8 episodes. Can't wait for finale of bbc next week. Fortunately we here in America demand 13 to 24 episodes a year for our shows. watch both America is already starting to branch off from the bbc counterpart but lets darken it up a bit these are vampires and werewolves after all
