That shed some light on this very important period of the history of UK. It's always nice to see a king lose his head haha

Very good battle re-enactments. Good sets, costumes, acting. Old gold. Worth the watch.

Cromwell is compelling enough as a historical epic, and has several points of interest. The film is very beautifully filmed, with skillful cinematography, beautiful scenery and costumes. The battle sequences are very well staged, the parliamentary scenes are even better and the direction is solid. The acting was very good in general.

A very impressive lesson in English history. Same genre of movie as Braveheart, but more subdued. Worth a remake I think, with more action and realism as is now permitted in film making and was not when this film was made 40 years ago. 8.5/10

A course of history which could have changed the world...like the French Revolution did. Imagine no kings or queens,Victoria or Elizabeth, just a republic and its parliament, surely no British Empire...unthinkable.This well crafted movie opens windows of possibilities on what might have been the road to more democratic governments.Harris as Cromwell gives a magnificent performance with a strong support from rest of cast(Alec Guinness and all).... glorious battle scenes, perfect rendition and a dramatically missed chance...9/10.

A good lesson in history, and a well-made film, but definitely not my kind of movie. The costumes and scenery were exquisite, and the few fighting scenes were epic and realistic. It's worth a watch.
