The Set-Up: Over-the-hill boxer Bill 'Stoker' Thompson insists he can still win, though his sexy wife Julie pleads with him to quit. But his manager Tiny is so confident he will lose, he takes money for a "dive" from tough gambler Little Boy...without bothering to tell Stoker. Tension builds as Stoker hopes to "take" Tiger Nelson, unaware of what will happen to him if he does.

2 stars? That shows what terrible taste most of you here have. This is one of the best movies ever made. If you don't like film noir to begin with you should not rate it as your opinion is irrelevant. Keep your ratings for your childish anime and hollywood action garbage you most likely love. The performances by Robert Ryan and Audrey Totter were among the best on screen. The current imdb rating is 7.8 from 4610 users. Thank you for making me aware how useless it is to go by ratings on this site. I give it a 9.5/10
