Elite Squad: The Enemy Within : After a bloody invasion of the BOPE in the High-Security Penitentiary Bangu 1 in Rio de Janeiro to control a rebellion of interns, the Lieutenant-Colonel Roberto Nascimento and the second in command Captain André Matias are accused by the Human Right Aids member Diogo Fraga of execution of prisoners. Matias is transferred to the corrupted Military Police and Nascimento is exonerated from the BOPE by the Governor. However, due to the increasing popularity of Nascimento, the Governor invites him to team-up with the intelligence area of the Secretary of Security. Along the years, Fraga, who is married with Nascimento's former wife, is elected State Representative and Nascimento's son Rafael has issues with his biological father. Meanwhile Nascimento and the BOPE expel the drug dealers from several slums but another enemy arises: the militia led by Major Rocha and supported by the Governor, the Secretary of Security and politicians interested in votes. Nascimento is manipulated to help this group, vanquishing the criminals in the slums and poor communities; then the corrupt group of police officers is free to exploit the poor population.

As the first person to comment i would Say Watch it!!! If u liked the First TropadeElite Movie you will surely like this! 7/10 This time the movie is a bit longer, less shooting compared to the previous one, but just as powerful! The 2 main actors from the first movie are back and its a joy to see the head character to take revenge as he did last time! Tropa Rulez! Im glad that the most of the film crew stayed together and it has the same touch as the previous movie! WATCH IT! PEACE

Starting off with the City of God and then watching Elite Squad with the creation of the BOPE and now Elite Squad : Enemy Within, one gets a hyperreal depiction of Rio's harsh realities where poverty, disenfranchisement, embezzlement, corruption, drugs, politics and crime rule in the background and the foreground. This is perhaps a similar reality in Brazil's other cities; Minas Gerais, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Manaus, but one thing is for sure, Rio is so deeply embedded in its own tarantula-esque web that one wonders how it can continue to survive. In some areas of Rio life is beyond cheap. All 3 movies do a fantastic job at depicting the lower to the upper echelons of this tarantula city and how each keep the other one alive in a sickening codependency without end. For those seeking action City of God and Elite Squad deliver plenty. In ES : Enemy Within the action turns to the political realm and its entrenched ties to the drug trade in the favelas. As always the acting is on par, beautifully written, and the cinematography is top notch. From City of God to ES : Enemy Within the colors and light chosen are usually foreboding and set the mood for a very dark ride into a seemingly enchanted city. The filmmaker José Padilha was keen on not repeating any formula from both Elite Squad films as it was more important to depict a reality than to swell it up into some romanticism that could go on into a series. Padilha chose to keep things real in every sense of the word. 7.5 / 10 for both Elite Squad movies.

This is brilliant. Different from the first, more thoughtful, slower paced and i loved it. I'm surprised people don't like it because there's not enough action. If all you want is an action movie, then maybe you shouldn't be watching this. It does have action but its merely a means to an end, as it is in life i suppose. A truly great movie and in my opinion, better than the first.

Straight to fav, just like the first Tropa de Elite and Cidade de Deus. This one is more political than the first, but whith a great storyline whith just enough action to follow.
