loved this show so much im going to watch it all again now before season two starts up later this month now for the few who think its slow paced and you dont learn anything in an episode etc this is a type of show that requires a little thought from yourself you may think something is pointless but with that little thought it turns out not to be pointless at all so to anyone who has not seen it yet give it a go if you dont mind making use of your brain a little bit im sure by episode two or three you will be hooked enjoy

I read the book and enjoyed it, but I'm not comparing the show to it. That'd be like comparing Game of Thrones to the books - I'd be frustrated as hell if I wanted it to stick to the exact page! So far I'm interested, I'll keep watching & see if the interest continues. The pace they're taking to establish everyone in the town is done well, & I truly don't mind the changes. If SK is okay with them, then it wouldn't hurt to be open minded. First episode I give a 4/5

I enjoyed season one, but as a tv show on its own, not as a representation of the book. I think it would have been much more true to Stephen King's original vision if it had been produced by HBO, maybe even Showtime. I don't suppose CBS can include the violence and horror elements that permeated the book (I wasn't looking forward to seeing certain scenes, they broke my heart reading it). If regarded on its own, without comparison, it's definitely worth watching - there are some great actors, the sci-fi element is decent (in that it's been quite mysterious in season one, and still engaging) and the production values match those elements and the script. But I have to admit, I was disappointed that it was brought down to such a low rating (pg-13 vs nc-17 kind of thing). It reminded me of what Broadway did to the book Wicked. Scrubbed out most of the interesting and challenging layers, thus actually changing individual storylines to the point where some characters became unrecognisable (or continue on long after they've been killed off in the book). If I had a choice, I would have had it done on HBO as one mini-series, following closer to the book. That said, I do want to continue watching. Just nowhere near as much as I just had to keep reading the book, no matter how horrifying. But transposing Stephen King to the screen must be completely overwhelming, his writing is hard to capture fully in film or television. He's a master.

I still don't know about this show. I'm 3 episodes in, it's got an awesome concept, but it still seems to be missing something. I'm not sure what, but it seems to lack a couple things for me to be crazy about it. It's not a bad show at all, so far, I just wouldn't say it's great or be upset if I got behind on watching it. Some of it just seems really hokey to me.

If you plan to watch this, or you're enjoying what you've seen so far, I'd recommend that you don't read the book or you'll fall out of love with this series rather quickly. Many of the characters may share a name with those in the book, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. When you've finished watching this, then read the book and you'll understand what I mean. Meanwhile, if you like the show, enjoy!

This show continues to prove why more Stephen King books need to be turned into well done screenplays! He's the best writer of our time IMO and practically everything he writes is genius worthy of the tv or big screen when done right !

Absolutely loving this show, I had to watch the 1st 10 episodes within 24 hours. It's one of those shows that leave you yearning to find out what happens next episode! I felt this way about 'Lost' when that 1st started, but at least this show doesn't drag out it's secrets for far too long! :D

After seeing previews for the new season coming up, I remembered that I stopped watching this after the 2nd episode. Just didn't jell with me at the time as I haven't been much impressed with Stephen King since he came out with Dreamcatcher. So I gave it another chance and wow, all I can say is that after the last episode, I'm glad I don't have to wait months to continue.

This show started out so well earning loads of 5 star ratings from viewers. As the episodes progress it becomes clear that the writers had a good idea for a pilot but no clue how to develop it into an interesting series. Shame

I was kind of annoyed how it ended till I found out that there will be a season 2! For those that read the book and think it should have ended, I am sorry. But for the rest of us that are still loving the show it is good news. I can't wait to see what's next :)
