John Keats "An Ode to a Nightingale' as the credits role is one of the best renderings. Difficult to imagine what it must have been like before there was a cure for TB. The visuals are rich and sensual. So much passion expressed in so subtle expression.

oh my god. Such a beautifully directed film it was so real. Abbie Cornish was absolutely amazing, I have never seen such a fantastic performance. Makes me wonder why she doesn't have more recognition.

''Bright Star'' is a surpassingly beautiful work of art. I got annoyed at the annoying, laughed with the funny, and then wept with the mourning. Keats -- what an amazing man and accomplished poet beyond his peers of the day and in such a compressed time (essentially five short years) before ''doctors'' bled him and starved him to death to ''cure'' what they called in those days ''consumption.'' If you want some beautiful culture, a period piece, and a dash of history via video images, then ''Bright Star'' is the the one.

Beautiful heartwrenching story of possibly the greatest romantic poet to date, and his one true love. 10/10

This was so beautiful... I can also relate a lot to a love that is so powerful and yet due to extraneous variables cannot be fulfilled... the ending was so moving... Really is a wonderful watch - you don't have to be a historian, a poet, or a romantic to watch this; their love story spans the ages and is reverberated in our lives today (to some extent). 8.5/10

I loved this film. The characters are interesting and dynamic. The soundtrack is very subtle creating a great silence in this film that gives it a tranquility. Great love story, romantic and tragic 5/5.

This is an awesome movie. Movie connected with love and patience. We can see 3 sides - Fanny as a designer, John as a poet and Fanny&John as one thing of two parts which we cant alienate from each other. This is a beautiful lovely movie about love, as I said - but this story is the beauties I've ever watched. Colourful, bright, colours made me feel calm and relax. I think that this movie should be watched by everyone, coz it is fabulous and of life.

What Keats says is that you do not jump into a lake just to swim to the shore, you jump in to experience the relaxation that it brings....

I had heard this was excellent....i disagree. I consider myself very well versed in period dramas and this was no where near anything else I have seen. I will say cinematography is nice in a lot of scenes. Fannie, i don't know if she was this way in real life, but was extremely annoying. This story has more historical accuracy because it's not a novel, so of course it's not as romanticized as other period pieces. The characters are often not relatable and quite fantastic - as in remote from reality. There's almost an obsession to the love that she had for him. This would have been happening around the years 1815-1821, which is in the georgian era....i've never seen any english people behave that way in any realistic or non realistic piece during this era. I don't know why i couldn't like this exactly....i just know that it does not compare at all to films from literature of this time. you can judge it for yourself.
