La reine Margot: The night of August 24, 1572, is known as the Massacre of St. Bartholomew. In France a religious war is raging. In order to impose peace a forced wedding is arranged between Margot de Valois, sister of the immature Catholic King Charles IX, and the Hugenot King Henri of Navarre. Catherine of Medici maintains her behind-the-scenes power by ordering assaults, poisonings, and instigations to incest.

Grand film. It kept me on the edge the entire time. The acting was flawless. So rare a gem this is. Thanks for creating a masterpiece on history. So much senselessness. Things like this truly show the insignificance of humanity in the large scheme of things. Fighting over what to believe in. Believe what you want to believe and let live. 9/10

A great movie about the infamous Massacre of St. Bartholomew. Keep an eye on Henry of Navarre... and the beautiful Queen Margot (Adjani) of course ... and Catherine de Medici too! My favorite moments are about the book and the bells.
