Mysterious Cities Of Gold: The year is 1532. Esteban, a young boy, is told that he was saved by Mendoza, a navigator on a Spanish ship from a ship wreck in a storm at sea. The only clue to his identity is a medal that Esteban wears about his neck. Esteban joins Mendoza on a trip from Spain to the new world - the Americas - where on route he meets two other children - Zia - an Inca girl and Tao, the last member of a highly advanced race. All three are looking for different things - Esteban to find his father and his identity, Zia for her father and Tao for remains of his race. The clues for all three quests however all point to the seven Cities of Gold and so the children, Mendoza, Sancho and Pedro - two other sailors and friends of Mendoza start searching in a massive treasure hunt for the Cities Of Gold...

Quite simply the greatest cartoon ever - I remember sprinting home after school as fast as my little legs would carry me so I could catch it, and I wasn't one for running! Epic, in the classic sense of the word, and also has the best theme tune ever! They don't make 'em like this any more - a must watch.

Makes me feel old..... this show is so special. The art is nothing to holler at and the music is hypnotizingly rendundant... but it's magic. Talk about the innocence of youth opposite the greed of grownups... And those little educational tidbits at the end of every episode.... urgh! I am SO GLAD that they are releasing another season all these years later! 4.5/5

Same as everyone else. This was a childhood favourite. Again I remember having to rush home to see it. It was a superb animation. I was always disappointed because it was hardly repeated and then just vanished for years without trace.
