To this day this remains my favorite horror/thriller film, and one of the very few that ever really scared me. If what you look for in horror films is monsters, ghosts, zombies, or being chased by stuff, this isn't for you; this film has a truly eerie, surreal atmosphere. It's a rare gem. I'm extremely difficult to satisfy when it comes to creepy films, and some others I've liked include: Triangle (this one is excellent); The House at the End of Time; Bilocation; The Others; Necromentia; Pi; Wrong Turn 2; Pan's Labyrinth; The Babadook; Enter Nowhere. (Honorable mentions: Iron Doors; The Cell; The Exam; Source Code; Cube sequel and prequel). Incidentally: I noticed a bunch of commenters said they weren't satisfied with the ending; I've always liked the way this film panned out and ended because (big spoilers ahead, so don't read if you haven't watched it!!) nearly every character turns out to be the opposite of what you thought they were like at the start of the film. The cop, who at first appears like the very image of safety, ends up a psychotic killer; the guy dismissed for being a loser who just gets off all day is the most compassionate in the bunch; the young girl who appears helpless is a genius in math and the group relies heavily on her strategies; and the guy who seemed mentally challenged and who was expected to be a burden turns out to be their key to figuring their way out, and the ultimate survivor.

A classic in its genre. I'm yet to meet a fan of psychological science fiction who doesn't love this movie. It's original and has an amazingly mysterious plot, and even after some pieces of the puzzle are solved, it still holds your attention because there's a lot more to unravel. And this movie gives you a feeling of uncertainty as to what would your reaction be in a similar plausible situation. One can't help but ask himself: would I be able to keep my sanity? Wonderful film, one of the best of its kind.

I really enjoyed this movie, however, I was a bit disappointed at how it ended, I feel as if, it really deserved a better ending, but overall a good movie. 7/10.

Note for trivia fans, Nicole de Boer was Ezri Dax in Star Trek Deepspace 9, and David Hewlitt was Dr Rodney McKay in Stargate Atlantis. I liked this movie, I'm not sure whether that's because or despite of it's ending. :)

Vivid characters, wild concept and great setting. I thought this was well done and would recommend for both sci-fi fans and thrill seekers 4/5.

Brilliant movie with such a low budget. Way better than the SAW series. There seems to be a hidden message out of the movie "If we work together we survive".

This one was a great film, to bad you never find out what happens to Kazan. The problems with Cube 2 was the ending is terrible the blonde lady makes it out then gets shot in the head, terrible ending but otherwise interesting. The prequel cube zero is good but you can tell it's very low budget. I love how creative and original this film was, their ezplanation of government is spot on, A hedless blunder operating under the illusion of a masterplan. 5/5

Definitely worth a watch if you're into psychological thrillers and/or horrors. Don't miss this one. The sequel is hit-or-miss but the 3rd is a definite watch along the same lines. You can skip the second without missing anything story-wise.

First time I watched this ever and I really liked it. So much suspense and intensity. Loved all the characters and they were played so well. I never expected that ending which it made a great movie. I hope the other parts to this movie are as good.
