Mean Streets: The future is set for Tony and Michael - owning a neighbour- hood bar and making deals in the mean streets of New York city's Little Italy. For Charlie, the future is less clearly defined. A small-time hood, he works for his uncle, making collections and reclaiming bad debts. He's probably too nice to succeed. In love with a woman his uncle disapproves of (because of her epilepsy) and a friend of her cousin, Johnny Boy, a near psychotic whose trouble-making threatens them all - he can't reconcile opposing values. A failed attempt to escape (to Brooklyn) moves them all a step closer to a bitter, almost preordained future.

The standard Scorsese 70s slum film. Not bad, but all told in such a way that it comes off as rather random. With the middle of the film dragging out what seems to be a bit of a confused plot, The main idea hits you right at the end. You have to know what kind of film to expect to appreciate it I think. 4/5

Meanders and could've been trimmed down but its intentions are clear and you can see the talent involved.

Nice gangster movie. Young Robert De Niro. Young Harvey Keitel. If you like gangster movies this one really has a good story that doesn't seem to be forced. Very realistic. 5/5.

Awesome movie. It doesn't actually have a fixed story. It's more of a character study with powerful acting. Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro are both great in their role. De Niro especially was outstanding. Worth watching.

Wow! I could not keep my eyes off Deniro. What a sight. This movie was like watching goodfellas but all original know what I mean. Even then Scorsese knew how to do it. I can see why this is a classic. Harvey keitel not too bad either.

I\'m not exactly sure how I feel about this film. It didn\'t really have a center plot and ended IMMEDIATELY after the climax lol. However, the acting was real. It felt as though you were following a typical man around during his hectic day. It was quite entertaining and worth at least one watch. And what\'s not to love about a young Robert De Niro? <3

An age in film that has been lost. Although Scorsese's initial attempt into film has gumption, be sure to know that his career defines great direction. You have to start somewhere. See it!
