This wasn't as good as it could have been. I was hoping for a nice old Doctor Who story to brighten my day, but for some reason, it just seems better to me when there are mostly British accents. And also, the plot was kind of horrible. But most of the acting was halfway decent. I'm sort inbetween liking it and not liking it, but I guess if you really like Doctor Who it's worth watching...

I'm sorry, but this was a disgrace to Doctor Who in my opinion. I hated the plotline and the whole idea of how the master resurrected himself is severely stupid. It's nothing compared to the modern day and original Doctor who and shouldn't exist. 2/5

I feel sorry for Paul McGann, he had the potential to be the Doctor but the story ruined everything. They shouldn't have "americanized" it.

good attempt... but suffers from pandering to an american audience, im sure americans are as intelligent as everyone else but its tv companies seem to think differently.

This 1996 attempt to relaunch the franchise is a basket case, mostly because there were four production companies in the mix who all pulled it in separate directions. There were some positives, not least Paul McGann hitting the ground running with his take on The Doctor, some good jokes, and a beautiful Tardis set. Unfortunately, some dismal acting from the 'companion' actors, and a campy Master from Eric Roberts make many scenes mediocre and pedestrian. As for the ridiculous "half human" Star Trek line, you might as well have given The Doctor an Uzi and turned him into an action hero, it was so pants. Although it was nice to see some money being spent on the programme for once, and fans had had a 7 year gap since the show went off air, it's failure was probably a good thing in the end. The storylines outlined for a pickup series were horrendous, with The Doctor searching for his roots and discovering The Master was his brother. It made the 2005 relaunch that much stronger I think. The only sad thing about that is we never saw Paul McGann again on screen in the title role until a 7 minute short in 2013. It would be great if the show made history by recasting him one day as the 13th Doctor. This is worth a one time watch, but it's not Doctor Who as we know it, classic or modern.

Paul McGann is a fine regeneration of the Doctor and its unfortunately we never got to see his potential in the series as the runaway Time Lord. He's easy on the eye, gentle and very eccentric. The film is a bit cheesy, full of your typical 1990s references with a terminator styled Master and a Tardis that needs a good dusting! Nothing too clever and was very annoyed The Doctor became half human. Contradicts the canon of the TV show. Could they not have paid someone to research?

It got better toward the ending, but the movie was filled with a lot of american stereotypes, in my opinion.

This American production had hope...until they changed every canon fact about the doctor, even changing 50% of what race he is intoa human half-breed. Directing, impementation and script all fell short and the only blessing is English Actor Paul as the doctor. Doctor Who is best in british hands (better writers than americans of late anyway), and thus when british tried a reboot - it worked.

I didn't enjoy this one as I have the others. Ok for a one time watch though. 5/10

There's not humanity in this. Chang Lee's friends get shot and all he does is shrug it off, wtf?? They kill off the 7th doctor too easily, he gets out of his tardis and wham a barrage of bullets. There's no emotion in this.

Very dated and cheesy with a decent central performance but very little else going for it.
