Disneyland The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh Part 1: Dr. Syn, a country priest leads a rebel band against the King's naval press gangs. Press gangs (impressment) roam the country side beating young men into submission or unconsciousness, usually at local inns and pubs, in order to enslave them in the Royal British Navy. Dr. Syn conceals his secret identity behind a sackcloth mask, and carries on activities ala Scarlet Pimpernel and Zorro from his parish base.

As I watched this movie I couldn't help but compare the acting to that of today's actors and I was astonished. This is another great production by Walt Disney but more than that there was some very good acting in this one. Maybe the actors and actresses of 2010 could take a few pointers from this movie, as could today's directors. If you were to strip the special effects from today's movies you would have nothing left, unlike the movies of years gone by. Two thumbs up to the actors/actresses and directors of the movies from yester-year. :)

I saw this, as a child, when it first came out. I remember that it scared me. Watching this now is like a refreshing walk down memory lane. When they made this one it was way back when. When: There were high standards as per production quality, acting, directing, and morality. This move is as good now as it was then, and compared to a great many modern attempts at cinema that hold to no standard its much better than whats offered currently. This movie is AAA+. And the Scarecrow stills scares me.
