Rebecca: Based on the Gothic romance novel by Daphne Du Maurier, Rebecca is a classic tale of love and hate. Maxim De Winter marries a woman half his age only a year after his first wife, the beautiful and accomplished Rebecca, dies. She finds herself in an aristocratic social world her middle class upbringing did not prepare her for, and housekeeper Mrs Danvers despises her for taking her darling Rebecca's place. But these are not the only problems to face...

Hey hotstuff do you know what "spoiler alert" means? If you don't like the film fair enough but don't ruin it for everyone else by telling the story because you make yourself sound stupid.

I think the 1940's version was way better. This was boring and uninteresting.

This is a terrific adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's 1938 novel. The period detail, costume and scenery are all spot-on, and the acting is good, especially among the principals. Generally, this television version is more faithful to the book, both in spirit and in plot, than the 1940 Hitchcock version with Laurence Oliver and Joan Fontaine.

This is a classic. I love the part when I knew that Mr.DeWinter doesn't have to be convicted of murdering his wife after all. I wonder what did Rebecca's lover told the housekeeper? What made her so angry that she have to burn down the house? I think the housekeeper is a lesbian. She loved her madam so much that she can no longer live w/out her. Thanks, 8/10.
