I'm with you!! Marlowe is a man out of place, viewing the moral decay around him. The confusion we experience is his confusion at the world around him. The comment above is obviously made by someone who doesn't really like proper movies or film makers. RIP Altman!

A Classic, underrated flick,if you understand Altman films, u will get this,a real twist with a twist, ignore the previous comment about no plot, this has oodles of plot, but it takes an observerant mind to stay with this movie, which very few people are nowadays.

This movie is really strange in a way that I can't quite explain. It has this really strange, sort of confusing pace, but things take so long to happen, I don't know what I'm so confused about? I think that's the point though? Either way, it's pretty interesting. I'm going to see if I can find some writing about it.

A movie about a detective where you have to be a detective to detect a plot. . . not all that great. .
