A somber retelling of the life and death of poetess Sylvia Plath. I found the acting great but I was missing why she had depression, the movie didn't really delve into the psychological side as much as I would have like. Still a good movie.

Gwyneth plays a woman that has a dark depression. Usually great artist have a dark side. Very depressing but good movie. True story.

A pretty good film, rather depressing, but the acting was good. It was a bit slow at times, and definitely dragged out towards the end, but it was well-made. I'd say it's worth a watch.

Sylvia Plath was a great poetess, but it is actually Ted Hughes who is highly underrated (mired for the remainder of his career by Plath's suicide, he was objectively the stronger poet).

Depressing but authentic. For me it expressed the dullness or how hard it can be to balance being a wife and motherhood with personal greatness. When you get stuck in the rut of caring for family everyday greatness can be easily lost.

@tconner:Movshare now OK; an old link pointed to a Hungarian movie, it was reported, removed, and replaced with a good one; so, Movshare now works fine.

There is a version of this movie on youtube. Just type in sylvia plath; the movie is in 11 parts though. Worth it for this dark but moving bio pic.

this could of been a much better film if they should how dark the depression really got for her.

I wish the movie had addressed Assia Wevil a little... Her story is even more heart breaking. For the plath fans I say, I am I am I am!
