Went through it as well, was prescribed Oxycontin at a young age which obviously led to heroin, I have a year clean in sobriety and watching this just made me very thankful to have gotten out alive. Still a very good watch even though I was crying like a 4 year old that lost his first Spiderman toy haha :)

I hate how they say cannabis led him to heroin. I have smoked cannabis for 15 years and have never touched a class A drug in my life. Kids in their last year at school should be made to watch this as a life lesson not to take drugs.

This was good and really does make you think twice about trying drugs. They just completely take a hold of the person. Messing with their head so much no matter how badly they want to, they cannot quit. Good documentary, vivid scenes of injecting and how it can effect the family.

I am going to show this to my friend, Ben. I felt like I was watching this about him. He's been addicted to herion for almost 2 years now, his uncle, who was a former herion addict just passed away, and his mother looks like his addiction is slowly killing her. His father has never been around, hes 23, hes had 2 jobs, and neither of them have been for more than a couple weeks. He literally wakes up every day and schemes on ways to get money to buy drugs, whether it be dope, weed, alcohol, or whatever. This was a really good documentary. I agree that this is a million times better than any drug ad campaign, but lets face it, this will not stop someone from doing what they are already doing because most people have the mind state when theyre on that stuff that theyre invincible and it wont happen to them. Thank you for this video.

This simple movie probably does more for the anti-drug effort than any slick mass produced "Just Say No" Campaign ever could. Interviews with friends & family members of a young man addicted to Heroin are supplemented by home video footage taken by the addict himself. The viewer is privy to an honest, raw look into the daily nightmare of addiction along with the anguish of those who love the addict. We see a bright young man become a selfish, lying, manipulative junkie who alternately hates what he has become and repeatedly chooses to continue the downward spiral. In spite of the odds, I rooted for the addict to escape his demons once and for all..if only to stop the agony of his long suffering family. But this is where the movie brings home the fact that Heroin is a harsh master. It's slaves are taken on roller coaster ride of spectacular, dizzying highs followed by horrific agonizing lows. It's a carnival sideshow that never ends well as few people can escape the long term price of admission.

very enlightening, this is a real problem and there are many young people i walk past in my town who are obviously going down the same path. It is only down to the government though if something is illegal it shouldn't be on the streets. The police and the border control are not doing enough. Nicotine is just as bad as this as well I can not understand why cigarettes are legal.

Wow, This should be shown to all schools and anyone who thinks drugs are fun and ok in moderation. Because Thats how all drug addicts start.

I like that videos like this are out and available for everyone to see what the effects of drugs are.. However, they are always very hard to watch.

This is as close a doc can come to putting you into every family members place as well as the addict.Showing the whole horrible journey is a bit overwhelming at some points. Most certainly the last bit of the footage.I have watched freinds travel this road and they always know whats coming, but are powerless to stop it.5/5 from me on this doc.It was a heartwrenching veiw.

Aww..it was painful and heartbreaking for me. I could see the pain in everyone's faces going through this. I would have felt and done the same as that family did for Ben. I know exactly how the mother feels when she explained it from her end. I cried for him. Rest in peace Ben.

This was a real eye opener. Of course you hear about what it could do to you, but I know sometimes your just at a party with some friends and they are casually doing some form of drugs. You think that yeah it'll be fine for me to try it this once at a party, nothing will happen to me, but then that's where you are wrong. No matter how strong willed you are, no matter how much you got to live for, if you bend to it just this once chances are you will bend to it time and time again until you get like Ben. DON'T DO DRUGS!! Don't believe me or you want to know why, what this documentary!! 5/5 RIP BEN

That poor, lost soul. Yes, this is a movie for young people to see. It's heart breaking to watch this poor guy struggling to break the habit and not succeeding. If even it influenced one person then perhaps Ben can sleep in peace now.

Can still remember when I first seen this on sky one. A powerful watch for anyone to see the effects on drugs has on ones life. Hard to watch though,

3/5 ....pretty crazy movie.... definately a hard watch. I think one of his sisters says that he films himself in order to remove himself from his life.... The camera was the one thing he had control of.

Such a sad story, If only Ben would have found the strength sooner to detox his body might have been able to fight the withdrawal better, I know his death touched a lot of the staff at the Edward Myers center :(

this stuff is just sadd. who even falls into this stuff now adays. we all know what it is and what it does. Ihave a family member that does this and he threw his life away. It is really sad to see someone die in a slow way like this. Your spirit dies first and then your body.

Such a sad waste of a life and all he might have been. This really should be shown to people..kids that are thinking of trying heroin or any other hardcore drug.It shows that the rush is never worth the consequences.
