Sad, but brilliant film. After watching this and several other movies that are generally getting negative comments I think the MPAA should issue a new film rating called HIQ or something, so people with very high IQ's and above average intellect can know ahead of time that the general public and most younger viewers with A.D.D. or simply not life experienced enough to grasp the concepts of this are going to hate it because they aren't going to understand it. This film is not for alot of people, that's for sure. It is, however, classic Sci-Fi perfection and if you can't read between the lines and take in the deeper undertones of a story then don't waste your time. It's not a feel good movie, not an action film, and not sci-fi in the sense of space ships and light sabers. All those have their place and this one has its. Also, if you watched "Donnie Darko" and had no fucking clue what you watched that should tip you off you aren't going to get this movie. Kind of like expecting the general public to get a David Lynch film, it just isn't gonna happen. There is quite a bit of suspense and tension about what is going to happen if/when they push the button, but even the title of the movie has about 5 different meanings. So for what this is supposed to be, is is a 10/10. Not a popcorn movie.

Thought this flick was intriguingly interesting. It does however demand some latitude for understanding but it gracefully offers some originality in subject treatment. Of course it does go without saying that the story takes a one track step towards a predictable ending, but you don't see it until you realise, things couldn't go anyway else. If you are in the mood for unorthodox stories, then this might be an excellent movie to cater your needs.

A pure definition of 'missing the point' buried in a sea of stupid plotlines and self indulgent imagery.

Ladies, if some old crunchy weirdo you don't know, sent be people he cant tell you about, come up in your house and offer you a choice that seems all simple and too-good-to-be-true on the outside, it probably comes with some effed up consequences, and you need to run his deep fried butt out your home and get on with your life! 'Hi I'm a scary man from an unknown place' = 'You crazy, get out and take your jeopardy button with you or I'm callin' the police!'

Richard Kelley who directed "Donnie Darko" has done it again and made a real mindf##? of a movie,it's based on a sci/fi book by Richard Matheson called "Button,Button" and later it was adapted for an episode of "The Twilight Zone"of the same name,i remember seeing it as a child and it freaked me out for days.Judgeing by the comments that i've read it seems some people don't get the meaning in this movie at all,i would say that perhaps this says something about them rather than the movie,i'd prescribe a heroic dose of THC and then view it,you'll see a whole different film. Trust me i'm a Jedi! 8.5/10

I liked it. I didn't like Cameron's accent in it, though. It was just... weird. But overall a great movie concept. It kept me guessing and glued to the screen to see what was going on.

Definitely different...It started out great, then took a left turn and went in the opposite direction..Hard to follow all of the story lines because they are not cohesive. Perhaps 1 star because they tried...

WISH I CUD GET BACK THE TIME I WASTED ON THIS MOVIE....PURE CRAP

the reason this movie drags is because they stretched a 20 minute twilight zone episode into an hour and a half movie...the plot was semi-see-through in both twilight zone treatments, so you can imagine how brain racking the writing sessions got trying to get a whole feature length film out of the material.

At first the idea of it was a good plot; but then it quickly branched out into a confusing web of plots and discovery... I was totally lost towards the end... yes, it's about 'Greed' but, I didn't get it. :/

Interesting concept and innovative plot. I felt the acting was poor and this was Diaz's worst character so far. She's just not made for drama and such. I don't believe this movie's not for everyone, I think if one watches it with a fair deal of attention, they'll understand it just fine. I recommend, if you have nothing else in your mind.

I really enjoyed this movie and for everyone saying it was bad, you apparently didn't understand anything about this movie. Plus you have to take into account who the director is, he always makes his movies confusing, and that's for a reason, to prove who the true intelligence lies with. I give it a 9/10. Only for the reason that I didn't like the film style it was shot in.
