An absolutely magnificent film! Truly a masterpiece. Some of the best performances i've ever witnessed. Excellent, and original plot. Incredibly dramatic, and incredibly sad. Everyone should watch this at least once in their life. It is not to be missed!

This is an epic piece of cinema. Both Sarrazin and Fonda are brilliant in it, as is Suzanne York. I implore anyone to watch this, it's a masterclass in film making and the human story within it is heart wrenching.

Absolutely phenomenal, cornerstone of american cinema. Everything is great about this film - the plot, the dynamics of plot development, the performance, the acting team...I just wonder how can you be at that high and then end with what's now in the movie theaters

This is, as others have written herein, a very good movie - bordering on great. It is unique. I have a copy of it but will watch it again on line. Fonda at her best. Excellent character development throughout. Good script. Interesting story and memorable.

A powerful story and a classic that should be everyone's to watch list. I can't really add to the praise in others' comments, other than to suggest you read the book as well if you can find it.

Jane Fonda at her best, incredible story line, not easy to all viewers. This film is an excellent metaphor of episodes that happen in our lives. Unfortunately, there will always be someone trying to put us down. But, on the other hand, ever heard of Pyrrhic victories?

Another example of the fine cinematography that Hollywood used to give us in the 60's and 70s. This movie should be on everyone's "Films I must see before I die" list. 4.5/5 Thank you uplinkers.
