The best movie about Oliver Twist ever. The musical won 5 Oscars. Fagin is incredible. I utterly recommend the movie. Information for winddancersong: someone must have given you the wrong information, Mark Lester made quite a few movies and never acted in "Exodus". You might have the names confused, check that out.

If I could only watch one film for the rest of my life, this would be it. This musical is absolute perfection! Words can't describe how much I love and adore it. A must see!

Superb adaptation! I laughed, I cried, I sang along! Great cast, set, story, and a score that takes you through every emotion. Gotta love Dickens!

I first saw this as a little girl in the sixties. For years afterwards I sang the songs but forgot where they came from, they were so inspirational. A moving storyline, amazing sets, brilliant musical score and terrific acting makes this one of the best musical productions that ever came out of the era of Hollywoods fading golden age.Interestingly enough, the boy who plays Oliver only went on to play one other role, in the movie Exodus. The songs range from tender to upbeat foot tapping wild dancing saloon scores.A great deal of attention was given to details of life for the poor and one must remember this does stray far from Charles Dickenson's storyline. It does a good job with it sets depicting some of the ways of earning a living in the 19th century English cities. And makes one appreciate our time and liberties.

1968 was a long time ago. If you like those musical comedies where the tune is stuck in your head all week long, you will like this one. A bunch of tough orphan kids adopt a frail one.

Wonderful version of the story. Great sets, and authentic looks of the old days in the smoke filled skys of London. One of my favorite musicals. 5/5
