I'm not one for comparing books to movies, in this case however, I did think (although wordy) the book was better. :)

I'm an atheist, but I am always willing to watch these Biblical Apocalypse movies. It quotes criptures a bit too much. That is what I think is preachy about it. To be a good, entertaining movie, it would need to do less scripture reading, and more portrayal of what is predicted to happen in the days after Jesus takes the believers up. The story could be epic, but it is usually done in too scripture reading of a way to make a good epic movie. About Christianity being the one true religion, all the religions made out of the Jewish God say that. What if you pick the wrong one?

Bad movie. I'm not sure what was worse: the acting, the story line, the music score, or the not-even-remotely-subtle preaching. I like end of the world type movies, but this doesn't come close to being classified as that, so if that's what you're looking for, move on. Frankly, I say move on period. 1/5

This is a god preaching flic, delusional fractured plot, slow & boring... This is not sci-fi, there should be a religous genre bin for this crap.. 1/5

Why is this tagged as Sci Fi instead of fantasy?

This does not belong in the sci fi category but it does belong in the bin.

Perhaps this properly belongs in Fantasy, not sci-fi?

Better than Left Behind in my opinion. I couldn't watch on Stagevu but what I could see was interesting enough to buy the DVD. I wasn't disappointed. Unlike the previous comments, I didn't find it overtly offensive or preachy at all. Most of the religious message was subtle and very useful if you're not a Christian and are curious as to what the Bible says about the Rapture and the aftermath. To those who find it offensive I'd say perhaps you protest too much. There are far more offensive films out there and if this gets your dander up then perhaps the message wasn't wasted on you. I give this two thumbs way up. One of the better end times movies I've seen so far.

Thanks Cured you saved me from waiting for this to buffer, only to watch another preachy movie claiming to be Sci-Fi.
