I have to say, this is not only my favorite Jane Austen movie, it's my favorite movie period. It's a classicly timeless movie. I could watch it every day and I would never tire of it. I can't count how many times I've watched it, and I have a feeling I will again soon. It's hard not to love it!

I enjoyed this, I never grow tired of this lovely Jane Austen Novel. However, personally I think the 1995 version by the BBC is the best. Probably because it was the first adaptation I ever watched as a teenager so its set in stone for me that Colin Firth is THE Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle is the perfect Lizzie Bennet. this is worth a watch though.....Brilliant!!

I wish love was still like this - explored in its simplest form before people lost themselves in the passion of it that drives us all crazy (in the good way). My favorite thing about this period is that they didn't kiss until they were married - that was so sweet! It's an excellent movie - it's my second time watching it and I don't think it'll ever get old. The most memorable line is Mr. Darcy's at the end; I sympathized with the poor guy throughout the whole movie. It's a must watch; the acting is superb and the British landscape is always breathtaking. 10/10

A truly beautiful, wonderful story of love set so perfectly to film and written by Jane Austen. The film adaptation was also very well written with great acting punctuated by a continuous set of simple elegant, breathtaking landscapes. Great development of characters in which an archetypal subtext emerges; as each individual plays a vital social role. Moreover, I'm quite moved by how the love stories were built upon with great care to the intricacies of the social dynamics. Nothing was easy then. Every marriage counted as a hope to perhaps climb that social ladder as the characters of Collins and Catherine exemplified. Keira Knightly was impeccable in her role and so were most of the other actors. The music was actually good but could've taken a bit more of a backseat, some scenes I feel didn't require an emotional musical tug as the moment was already imbued with passion and beauty. Once again, great movie. 7.5/10

I really enjoy this version. It really works when you do not have 6 hrs. to watch a series. Matthew and Keira are the perfect Mr. Darcy and Lizzy, great tension.

This movie is truly beautiful. I had never really been a fan of romantic dramas, especially dramas that have too much drama, but it seems that this movie makes it work. Keira Knightely was amazing and she portrayed Elizabeth Bennett very well, the same goes for Mathew Macfadyen. The lead character's chemistry was on spot and I liked the fact that even though Mr. Darcy wasn't the most handsome man in the room his attitude made him much more attractive than all the others. They did a very good job, the ending too was stunning!

A great movie in all aspects - especially the casting (such as Tom Hollander as Mr. Collins). The scenery's atmosphere is charming, and put together with the great soundtrack and fine editing detail it's well worth many a watch.

'It is a truth universally acknowledged'...that Pride and Prejudice is an incredible story! I am a huge Jane Austen nerd. I have always loved the novel and although this version veers a bit from the novel, I can't help but absolutely love it. Joe Wright is a brilliant director. The cinematography is truly gorgeous. The subtle love that gradually forms between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy has been captivating people since 1813 and is wonderfully captured in this film. If you are in the mood for a beautiful movie that makes you feel good, then I highly recommend this film!

The sets on this film are lovely but because of the limited length of time for this feature film, some of the story feels rushed, and some parts are cut out, especially the all-important dialogue that Jane Austin wrote for our two lovers. I would say that the better version to watch would be the 1995 six-episode series done by the BBC with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. That way you get all the drama, all the dialogue, all the story development and minor characters, the way the book was intended. 3/5 stars on this one from me.

i love this movie. a lot of people feel it's too romanticized and like the bbc version better (which in the case of most period dramas i agree with) and i do like that one, but there's something about the chemistry between these two that sets it apart. when i say i love this movie, i mean i really, really love this one. it's a must watch.
