The Last Days: Five Jewish Hungarians, now U.S. citizens, tell their stories: before March, 1944, when Nazis began to exterminate Hungarian Jews, months in concentration camps, and visiting childhood homes more than 50 years later. An historian, a Sonderkommando, a doctor who experimented on Auschwitz prisoners, and US soldiers who were part of the liberation in April, 1945, also comment. Most telling are details: Renée packing her bathing suit, Irene swallowing the diamonds her mother gave her to buy bread, Alice's memorial for her sister Klara, Bill escaping police by jumping into a line of Jews going to Buchenwald, and Tom told by a US soldier to have "all the damn bananas and oranges you can eat."

Very sad. A truely brilliant documentary! Very emotional, it really helped me learn a lot about the history of this terrible event. I highly recommend it if you're looking to learn something or if you are a documentary film fan.

A superb documentary and for a change, focused on Hungarian Jews. Very moving contributors, the ladies in particular. It never really made much sense.... how could Hitler successfully destroy the Jews and yet ignore the destruction of the Old Testament/the Bible, at the same time? Are we dealing with another historical episode when killing during one's life has the purpose of securing slaves, for the afterlife/spirit/ether world? Let the Wind Blow!

Particularly powerful, as the story is told not only by survivors and their liberators, but by historians and Nazis at the camps.
