Parents beware, this movie may be too sad for your kids. You may want to screen it first. Not really a kids movie.

This was a great movie but all of these versions leave out a little of the begining.

I have been seeing a lot of comments saying that this is too adult to be a child's movie. I personally think it is for pre-teens and teens. Because I am a 13 year old girl, and I remember reading the book when I was little. It's like the "How the grinch stole Christmas" non-animated. It makes a child's book have a twist so teenagers find it entertaining.

It's not like the books but the movies never are. I do have a love for each in their own way. This movie was okay, I really expected more but it was still decent.

The movie turned out to be quite different than I had expected... Different along the lines of not being a children's film at all. The themes parallel Max's somewhat dysfunctional and broken family life with that of the Wild Things living on the island that Max lands on; of trust and betrayal; of death and despair, and the amongst the most important ideas touched upon in this movie, such as fantasies and realities being both good and bad. Not a film that I would watch with the family or the kids for a heartwarming experience, but it is a good movie for what its creators intended get across - appreciating what you have and the people you love.

Read the book...This kid was so messed up, he had to run away in his head...Everyone has an issue or two they have to deal with..It*s our coping mechanisms and we handle them...4/5

This was a good movie, the kid was very believable and kept me captivated. I loved the imagination that brought this movie together. I think kids would be fine watching this although as an adult a couple of the scenes did slightly creep me out. 10/10

This kid is such a douche. 1 star could've been 5 if the monsters had eaten him, but alas, that's what separates the wheat from the chaff in these plots.

It might be a little "harsh" for a kids movie. There are some things in there that might have a scary impact for little ones. I say it's a teen-movie. It has it's dark edges to it, but there's a lot of happiness as well. Wild imagination, nothing is what it looks like. I really enjoyed it. 8/10

yup... this isn't a kids movie. I was very surprised cause it's definitely not what I expected at all... it's actually a bit dark of a story in my opinion. the plot is really interesting and has a lot of depth I was caught since the beginning. I will prob look for the book.
