I read the book and saw the movie but I fail to understand how this is supposed to be a classic of sorts. it is watchable but hardly something to cry about. Only saw the movie to see if I was missing anything from the interpretive part but I was not wrong. There is certainly much better out there

I didn't realize that there were so many skull fuckers out there, balling their own eyes out. There are times when grammar makes a difference. BAWLING your eyes out is acceptable when you're sad. Balling your eyes out makes you a skullfucker.

A great interpretation by Emma Thompson, about a problem afflicting physically and mentally thousand of women.

10/10 I can't believe this movie wasn't made for theatres, it is brilliant. Thompson is an amazing actress. I cried for this movie; it takes quite a bit to get such a reaction out of me. Worth several watches, when you need a good cry.

Amazing. This film surpassed my expectation in leaps and bounds. I thought it was just going to be another science film since I was in Anatomy class when I watched it for the first time. It's a much watch for anyone considering the medical field. Screw Scrubs, House and all the other medical dramas (not that they're not good and fun to watch). I too "balled my eyes out" during and after the film.

Riveting. I couldn't take my eyes away even when I wanted to. As one poster on the imdb boards put it, Emma Thompson is "excruciatingly spectacular" in this role and I can't think of a better way to describe it. Not easy to watch but definitely worth it.
