Best Star Wars film. True Yoda 10/10

George Lucas' Best! In 1980 I was 8 years old... I still have vague memories of standing outside the movie theater waiting to get in to the (then) new film. I was so excited I could hardly stand still. Once inside the theater I saw what was to become my favorite movie in the Star Wars Saga! The plot thickens in this sci-fi saga as we learn more about the young Luke Skywalker and the vile Darth Vader as well a budding romance between Leia Organa and Han Solo. The movie also revels a little more about Han Solo's past with the introduction of new characters Lando Calrissian, Lobot and the Bounty Hunters (in particular Boba Fett). We are also introduced to the wise Jedi master Yoda. I will not say more due to the fact I do not want to spoil the film for any first time viewers. All I can say it find a copy, watch and enjoy one of the most exciting and historical science fiction films ever made. 10/10

The greatest film of the original trilogy. I have watched this film more times than all of the others. Brilliant! 10/10.

nothing has happened since then to beat the art of story telling so masterly done by Lucas....we were definetly privileged teenagers to have grown up with Star Wars.

the first time i saw this movie i was 6 years old, im now 35 and can still remember watching this masterpiece which did scare me a little at the time but can clearly recall for weeks after running around in my back garden with a long piece of plastic tube as my lightsaber with my best friend pretending to be jedi, this is the earliest memory i have from my childhood and is still clear as day allmost 30 years later. This truly has to be the best sci-fi film ever made and i cant wait until my son is old enough to sit down and watch it with me.

This is a great episode. Throughout the series, I've thought the actor playing the Emperor is a consummate badguy. Incredible. Got a question, though. About those transports used by the Alliance. They look almost roughly sawed in half lengthwise, and I can't figure out why. With no military knowledge at all, I suppose I wouldn't. But if someone does, I'd really be interested in hearing how they decided to shape them that way. Also, when Luke is immersed in fluid to heal him, I imagine that's Bacta fluid, but the movies themselves never mention it by name. I learned it from the Yoda desktop adventure, of all places! DO they mention it, and I just missed it? Have you noticed how sad it is to be reading a great book or watching a great movie for the first time, and never being able to appreciate it as fully as you do later on? Then when you repeat the experience, it may still be fabulous, but without the impact which can only be yours the first time? Sometimes we don't know the first time how strongly we will feel about it till we're done, but there are still times when we DO know in advance that it'll probably become a great favorite, but we still can't have that full appreciation till it's over. But there ARE compensations. One of the factors that makes any book or movie truly great is how richly it is textured, so that no matter how often we experience it, we always discover new stuff each time. It is this richness of texture - in all respects - that makes this series so classic and we can never cease to enjoy them. Richness of characterization, plotting, settings and so much more. Great attention was paid to each and every form of texture. That's what makes a classic.

10 out of 10! Episode V was epic, for those of us who were privileged enough to wait in line for hours and to be the first in our area,(mine being Phoenix, Arizona the Cine Capri, 24th and Camelback rd. Huge theater, at least three beautifully designed curtains open as the film was unveiled to the 750 eager audience participants. This was the event, once words were spoken and truths brought to light, you wanted to tell others but knew that would be a real dick movie. We as the collective audience grew with these stories as many of us have with other trilogy's. Best Star Wars movie so far, life is just like episode V, wins and losses. The next 3 or more are in Disney's hands now, they did it with the Avengers.

maybe the best of the bunch and is an actual continuation of the first film's story as opposed to just a regular sequel rehash. the story, the drama, the characters all get taken up a notch in this one, not to mention the intro of one of star wars' best characters in Lando calrissian(oh and some little puppet named yoda...). sit back and enjoy. 5/5.

The best in the whole series 5/5. Great acting with a really good story. I do wonder if anyone will ever put the blu-ray stuff on here for comment.
