I remember standing in line to see this with my best friend and my girl friend, the year after high school graduation. Now my best friend is still my best friend, my girl friend is my wife, and Star Wars STILL is the best.

I saw this movie with my dad as a small kid many moons ago, he was so patient he took me to see it ten times, my allowance my choice, lol. We then proceeded to see every other Star Wars movie together. He is now gone and although I saw the new one with a friend, (and felt my dad right there with us), I am re-watching this and letting my head and heart remember him.

I saw this opening night with my dad and brother when I was 9. I remember driving home and my dad and I were making light saber sounds and talked about how awesome the movie was. It's not fair that you don't appreciate your childhood until you are old enough to realize how great being a kid is. One of my favorite memories of my dad.

I remember standing in line for 3 hours to see this film in 1977. Anyone else remember the cult of people trying to outdo each other by trying to get the world record for how many times they've seen the film? Of course, those people would then sit behind you in the theater the next time you saw it, and they had the whole dialogue memorized and would recite it during the movie. Great times!

I've watched this so many times I can't count. Still to this day there is something captivating about it. 11/10 stars for being EPIC!

An excellent classic science fiction film. The movie has the illusion of a high dollar film for a low budget price tag. I saw this film when it first came out in 1977, I was a mere 5 years old, but it made an impression in my memory that I still cannot shake to the very day. No one back then knew that the movie would become iconic - but it did. What George Lucas created is extraordinary - even considering the fact the budget was limited (and you would never know it by watching the film). The special effects and costuming are phenomenal for the time era plus factoring in the limited funding to create the film (even by today's standards). The sets and ships appear elaborate yet there was not much to them. The story is captivating and well executed by the actors playing the roles. I will not rehash the story for those that have seen it nor will I ruin the film for those who have not. It is a must see movie. 10/10

Watching the OT again before seeing the force awakens and even though this is the special addition versions(looks like the blue ray updates specifically) its still a masterpiece of space opera storytelling despite all the extra junk lucas threw on the screen after the fact. anyway, classic story of good v evil and heroic journeys. one of those movies everyone should see at least once in their life. 5/5.

OK , I was like 13 when I first saw this in the theaters . Through the years watched again on VHS , DVD and now streaming and the thing that blows my mind is that C3PO really does have one silver leg . How did I not notice this all this time ? Maybe there is a Mandella effect going on . Anyone else ? ? ?
