A beautifully-made retelling of the classic collie tale, one need not be a dog-lover to fall for Lassie.

This is an amazing film. I've watched it several times and wish the extras from the DVD were on here to show how they wrangled the animals, and that only one dog actor was used for the entire film. This story is from the original 1940 British novel. The story of Timmy on the farm was pure Hollywood and TV invention.
