A flawed but intriguing work that is still worth checking out, despite its imperfections, for the good work by Salma Hayak, Colin Farrel and Donald Sutherland.

Love this movie so much..No better actors could play the roles than Colin Farrel and Salma Hayek. They did a wonderful job.

it's a drama. The romance itself is strong, not the diluted stuff you see nowadays. The movie has the hallmark of old American writings, with lots of metaphors and big words for showing what is really everyday life. The script is original, unlike most of the films today, because is based on a book about the depression era in the US. The actors play very well and the images are very well done.

What a beautiful movie. Seems right for the era they were in. Fantastic cast of the 3 characters, Donald, Salma and Colin. The acting was great and the chemistry insaciable!! Really liked it. 4/5

If you kinda liked the movie, read the novel (same title) by John Fante. The dialog is 100 times better. It's a lot better than the movie turned out. Not a bad effort tho, great acting by the principals.

Great movie, great chemistry, great acting; great, beautiful and enjoyable all around. The ending was sad yes, but it still fitted well. Colin Farrel is truly something else of an actor, I mean truly an amazing actor, and Salma Hayek is brilliant. 9/10
