Sorcerer is the remake of classic suspense film 'Wages of Fear,' a trek through Hell on Earth for four desperate characters. This movie never got the honors it deserves since it came out at the same time as the first Star Wars, which is an obvious foreshadow of the juvenilization of American cinema. 5/5

An unforgettable masterpiece from the maker of French Connection and Exorcist, William Friedkin. Roy Scheider's best movie in my opinion and such an underrated movie that Friedkin often feels hurt when speaking of the making of this film, and how Hollywood so poorly promoted it after all of that hard, back breaking work that everyone put in. A diamond in the raw, no pun intended. So much attention to detail was brought to this movie and the level of suspense/tension is the work of genius. So much can be said about the acting, particularly of one France's acting heros Bruno Cremer, and the cinematography, the lighting and the long moments of suspended silence. Unbelievable movie. Only the last part of the ending was a bit of a let down compared to the incredible intensity of the events that transpired before. Were it not for that this movie would rack up a 9.5, which would rank it even above Shining, French Connection and Exorcist, but hélas, because of its ending it racks an 8.5/10 and still remains to be one of the greatest films in the history of cinema. And btw, don't forget to also watch Sorcerer's parent, Wages Of Fear, which is also a classic in cinema.

Sh*t! What an intense movie, Scheider gave a great performance. Most of the movies we see these days can barely keep our attention, not the case with this film. I was literally glued to the screen, on the edge of my seat watching the suspended bridge scene. The south-american jungle is no joke. Just when you think everything is working out well, the movie surprises you. It's the down-to-earth gritty films that get my attention, so sick of the same predictable cookie-cutter flops these film makers churn out. Definately enjoyed this, second good film i've seen in awhile.

Everyone should watch this once. Amazing strangely interesting old film. Schneider does an amazing job. :)

One of the most underrated films of the 70's. The real star here is the cinematography. It is gritty, it is realistic and above all it is intense. It has the same kind of surrealistic vibe as Friedkins other masterpiece, The French Connection. Its criminal just how much the film was ignored in its day (I should know, I grew up in the 70's). 5/5

this is a great movie. A tense survival roadtrip. I enjoyed it more than the original which rarely happens. A must see for cinema nerds. I think it is getting a blue-ray release sometime soon.

wow. Where has this movie come from? A real gem. I bet Friedkin is very pleased his movie is finally getting proper recognition. Shame it didn't happen in R.Scheiders lifetime. ....'20 thousand apiece...!!..'
