An extraordinarily gripping thriller, expertly directed with extended suspense sequences. Engaging, emotional and original. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. 5/5.

One of the most tense films ever made. The ironic ending is unforgettable. A classic although I think Friedkins version is probably the best remake of a classic I ever ever seen

If only all movies were like this one...this is a masterpiece with Montand and Vanel at their best...5/5.

A classic that has you riveted all throughout the journey these men take. A remake was done in the late 70's starring Roy Scheider, called Sorcerer, equally as good as the original and brimming with suspense.
