This is the first and best of all the Universal Monsters. James Whale weaves a wonderful web of characters. Boris Karloff in his debut performance (some-what laughable, in a good way) and Colin Clive in a role of a lifetime. I highly recommend this movie to any classic horror fan. A true masterpiece of horror! 10/10

This is truely a classic movie. Director James Whale did a fantastic job and it would be remiss of me not to give special mention to Boris Karloff who really is the definative Frankenstein monster.

A true classic. This movie changed the horror genre, I could not even begin to imagine what the industry would be like if this film was not made. It is true that horror has evolved since 1931, but this was the foundation for many classic horror films which followed. 10/10

The power of this film has not been dulled, despite 80 years and countless parodies and imitations

Amazing classic! Very original idea when it was made. It didn't follow the novel as closely as I would have liked, but I think they adapted it very well. Excellent performances. If you like horror you should check this one out for sure. 5/5.
