Our Daily Bread: Welcome to the world of industrial food production and high-tech farming! To the rhythm of conveyor belts and immense machines, the film looks without commenting into the places where food is produced in Europe: monumental spaces, surreal landscapes and bizarre sounds - a cool, industrial environment which leaves little space for individualism. People, animals, crops and machines play a supporting role in the logistic of this system which provides our society's standard of living. OUR DAILY BREAD is a wide-screen tableau of a feast which isn't always easy to digest - and in which we all take part. A pure, meticulous and high-end film experience that enables the audience to form their own ideas.

Good documentary with a different approach. Silence. You be the judge.

It was hard to watch but I think everyone needs to know just how we get the food that we eat. I did cry at the end.

What a horrible documentary.. Actually brought a tear to my eye where the cows were being stunned then rotated in that awful machine... You can see the distress in the poor beasts.. and I think THAT is the problem... People are so detached from these sights, we forget they ARE beasts, with feelings, with fear and emotions... Instead, they are just there to feed us. This is quite monstrous of us, the automated killing of endless animals just to feed ourselves...

nice 'no comment' style. the chicken harvester, automated fish-gutter and semi-auto pig/cow-killing machines are quite disconcerting, it's nazi-style automated-death with 'normal' people at the controls, its ugly and we eat it

Excellent doc. i absolutely love the path director took with this. The most honest way of filming in this field ive seen to date. Place camera and film dont distract by narration/interviews,cuts into silly cartoons of "the history of". Allows for the viewer to get a sense of the subject short of smells. 4.5/5 must watch

I liked this doc. People have been so far removed from the abattoir and growing their own food that it may be shocking to some but since I was born in the country that didn't bother me. If it bothers you then I would suggest questioning what you consume, from your food to where your clothes are made. Yes there is no commentary but I found that enjoyable as people can make up their own minds about this.

What a great film. I like that it just shows what happens in the food industry. Your left to make your own conclusions. Have to say i just feel bad for the people that have to work such tedious job.

I for one, cannot bare to watch this.... What ever happened to only hunting/killing what we needed, when we needed it, instead its a mass production of poor animals being wasted for our own gluttonis ways... This world is f*cked up, and someone needs to push the restart button.

I could hardly watch as the little chicks got thrown from one place to another. They must get terribly traumatized by the whole action. I don't know if I want to watch more, because I know it will get worse. I have seen animals being butched, only when I was a child, when I did not have all these feelings about animals that I have today. But it is very interesting.

Become a vegan or get over it! Was I the only one eating fried chicken while watching chicks sorted for my next meal? These folks take pride in their work and they provide a necessary service. 4/5
