Excellent and powerful movie - if only it could change the powers that be in the ways that countries handle conflicts. The acting in this is amazing and it's wonderful to see these folks after so many years. Nicky/Walken did a GREAT job in portraying someone with PTSD and the overwhelming frustration of being unable to remember things like your parents or even your own birthday. It's touching and amazing to see the great acting job done by John Cazale even as he was dying from lung cancer. This is a movie that really should be seen if you can tolerate the brutality of some of the war scenes. Remember when you encounter soldiers, sailors, etc. many of them are simply serving our country in the best ways they know - they didn't start the wars, can't stop them, don't make the rules of engagement, and most had no idea of what they were really getting into - don't be cruel and abusive, save that for the politicians.

What a sad state it is that a great movie like this has one crappy link, and p.o.s like Twilight have 30 of them. Smh!

3.5/5 Very good movie. People say it is slow at the beginning, but there is so much going on. Amazing seeing these actors so young, Deniro, Walken, Streep.

Not as good as it could've been. It goes on and on, and when you think something is about to happen, its a let down. Only good scenes where the very intense Russian roulette.

Not really what I expected. It's pretty over the top when it comes to drama. Worth the watch though, great cast.
