This is such an informative program. Stephen is magnificent. His team of writers and CC are congratulated! Actually, he has been congratulated : The George Foster Peabody Awards (Peabody Awards) recognizes distinguished and meritorious public service by radio and television stations, networks, producing organizations and individuals. Reflecting excellence in quality rather than popularity or commercial success, the Peabody is awarded to about 25-35 winners annually from more than 1,000 entries.[1][2] Because submissions are accepted from a wide variety of sources and styles, deliberations seek "Excellence On Its Own Terms."[3] Each entry is evaluated on the achievement of standards it establishes within its own contexts.[4][2] Entries are self-selected by those making submissions, for which a US$300 fee (US$175 for radio) is required.[5

i'm amazed at how many people still don't get it. It's a parody, there's not meant to be any news on this show, because they are parodying the MSM's coverage of news. when people come to the Colbert report for up to the minute breaking stories, it's kind of highlighting the point they're trying to make...

But, as I originally intended to say. Colbert's wry jokes used to be funny, but now they hit so close to home and reality it is depressing to know. It's not a good sign when you can simply turn on CNN and find comedic programming for hours at a time.

Started watching a this a few weeks back and this guy is a comedy genius. Very very funny and in a good way. Doesn't matter what your politics are. This is comedy and not as republican as some may think.

Colbert and Stewart never disappoint. ill admit every now and then theyll give me the 'light bulb in a thought bubble' type of moment. however, with the platform theyre working with, you dont want to take everything they say too seriously. on the other hand its hard to take anything the main stream media says with more than a grain of salt these days, and fox news is by far the worst offender.

I personally am not a fan of the show but obviously people like it or else it wouldn't still be on air. You really have to watch it and form your own opinion I think;

I used to love this show. Unfortunately our government and our entire country has more or less gone up in flames. What is truly unfortunate is that a recession that has been in the making for over a decade, the seeds were first planted during the second term of Bill Clinton's Presidency, they were then nourished and allowed to grow by George. W. Bush for 8 years while he was president. Only in the last 6 months of Bush's second term were the effects of the recession beginning to force countless families to change their lifestyles. Obama is getting all of the blame for a problem that he didn't create as is working his tail off to rectify.
