Gotta love a good western! Michelle Dockery and Jeff Daniels are solid (as expected), but Sam Waterston and Merritt Wever are brilliant! Merritt especially has my vote, mixing straight-faced comic relief with her usual incredible acting! I so miss Deadwood, and this is a good second to fill the void a bit. Yea!

Love Period Pieces, Westerns, This one did not disappoint; thoroughly enjoyed every episode.. Standout performances by entire cast, phenomenal, cinematography simply breathtaking...

I really found this Western to be joyous, yet sad, just as it's supposed to be. Michelle Dockery didn't really convince me as a strong lead character. I hope the second season will be more of a prequel, showing more of Bill McNue's past life with his wife... They could have dwelled more on Bill's current life and the contrast with his not so recent past as gunslinger. His character, his wife, and that of his deputy seemed the most interesting with much more to reflect than the actual main characters. Also, there were quite of few secondary characters which could have seen a better development, like the german painter, the indian with the dog. Also, the relationship between Alice and Roy seemed too artificial, and against the characters' nature, specially what happens at the end of the film. All in all, this series was very good, but could have been great! Even better than Deadwood. But unfortunately it's not. Still good though.

I Loved this, The cast was all solid and quality was up there with the best, has a nice gritty touch but doesn't focus on the grit like many other westerns. It was perfect overall to me, hope to see more western series done like this, Love em all!

Godless is an outstanding miniseries. Netflix hit it out of the park with this one. It has the sweetest moments of tenderness, mixed in with the vilest acts of savagery, along with a few dabs of indigenous mysticism, all set in the beautiful, wide vistas of the West. Superb production credits to all involved with Godless.

5/5, great western miniseries! very authentic and no 'super-heroes', everyone's mortal. and the cinematography is a work of art! especially in the finale episode. I also liked jeff daniels as the bad guy, such a great actor lately (if you can forget his role in those horrible dumb and dumber movies. I also liked him in 'the newsroom'). too bad it's just a miniseries, I'd like to see more. but it's probably for the best, or else it becomes a drag, like all the other western series, which started off interesting (like deadwood and hell on wheels), but got worse over time because the screenwriters ran out of ideas.

Love westerns, and this is up there with the best. Every scene moves the story forward, and by the third episode it is very clear that this is a story about love. A;ready mentioned below are the photography and acting, which are great in the best traditions of the genre. Also of note is the editing - no fancy or flashy tricks. Just a thoughtful and pleasing sequencing of events.

Excellent in every way - acting, production and some awsome photography. Doubt there will be a second as Netflix has it down as a miniseries. 10/10

I was shocked! From the US?? Is Hell freezing over?? A great western, good acting, compelling story, great cast, and one that I highly recommend to all to binge watch as I did. You will not regret it. 5/5! Season 2? How can they top season 1?

As always the USA has made another great show! There is no country in the world that can compare with the United States in terms of quality and production. Simply amazing.

I really enjoyed this from beginning to the very end! Jeff Daniels did an excellent job portraying the quintessential ''bad guy''. Tantoo Cardinal delivered a stellar performance (as usual), she is known for her excellence on screen and off. All the actors did a fine job with their characters, some so well I had a desire to shoot them myself! The cinematography is outstanding, acting is good, and story is very entertaining. I highly recommend, it is well worth taking the time to watch this miniseries! I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. **** 26 Nov 17 *****

I thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series. The writing was excellent and the cast proved it. You couldn't help but become invested in the characters and their stories. There were some great surprises along the way too. That shoot-out at LaBelle was brilliant. Some damn fine cinematography went into making that the highlight of the series. One of the best westerns I've seen in a long time. Definitely worth watching more than once.

I never watch western but saw a preview of this and the premise intrigued me. I am glad I watched. It was awesome. Loved the characters, saw some actors from other series in there. The epic battle was amazing to watch. I hope there will be a season 2.
