Solid, smart story about the origins of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit with a holistic focus on the members of the team, the predators and their victims. What makes this different is that it covers profiling before they knew what they were doing and how creating that systematic approach causes problems along with mistakes made along the way. Disturbing, graphic images and dialogue, including child abuse, elder abuse and animal abuse - none of which is handled in a titillating, sensational or exploitative way. I'd call this series ~thoughtful.~ Excellent writing, casting and acting with a fitting soundtrack. If you like flash and gore and a lightning-fast pace, this isn't that. Quality and depth rather than spectacle. 5/5

I was just looking for something to watch, I was bored and didn't have any expectations about this show. The trailer was entertaining so I started to watching... I really enjoyed this show. Very captivating and interesting. Great insight into the workings and thoughts of psychopaths, and sociopaths and them compared to others. Lots of detailed descriptions of how these people killed, hunted other people, what they thought about it personally, why they did it, how they did it, everything to very last gruesome and sick detail. Just something VERY interesting and entertaining watching and listening to serial killers talk. The acting was phenomenal! Never felt awkward, never felt frustrated. It's so articulate, so well written. It's not a show where I'll re-watch it again but I'll definitely keep watching. 10/10

Almost binged all of the season in one sitting, it's a pretty good show, it almost felt 'intimate' the way it was written and acted out. Likable characters, interesting plot and quality cinematography for what it is. I'd say, if you're interested in 'true crime' and origin of profiling of the FBI, you will like this. But there are ways to improve, and I hope they will do that in a second season! 4/5!

No sugar at all was needed for this show to go down and it went down good to the last drop. While some of the acting was so so. I am talking about you Jonathan Groff I could not stop myself from bingeing this thing like I would a box of chocolate pudding Pops. lol

I really find this show enjoyable. The dialogue is crisp and it flows nicely, there are some surprises, and the story is multifaceted and interesting. The soundtrack is terrific. They've even integrated actual cases from the FBI. There are some questions that need to be satisfied, but all in all, I will definitely be looking forward to season 2. Thank you for the upload.

All the BTK killer stuff was just really distracting. Throughout the season I kept wondering how it was all going to tie together, especially considering he wasn't caught until 2005. I thought maybe they were trying to get at how, even with all the FBI's burgeoning profiling methods, some killers continued to allude capture (because obviously the FBI's criminal profilers weren't able to figure out who Rader was until he made the decision 15 years or so after his last murder to come out and start contacting the local police again). Anyway, even if they decide to pick up the BTK killer plot line in the second season, including the 10 second snippets in this season really served no purpose other than to frustrate some viewers and pull attention away from the main story being told. I know I often found myself for the first few minutes after the opening credits, trying to think through what part of the BTK killer's biography they had just tried to represent. If they really had to include the BTK stuff in this season, I think they should have considered putting it after the end credits like how Marvel does or how they do it on Rick and Morty.

I mentioned before I thought this was inspired by Robert Ressler and that episode confirmed it. The scenario with lax security leaving him alone with Kemper actually happened (but at the prison) and Kemper joked about how he could kill Ressler at that moment if he wanted. As for BTK, I don't know how they are going to approach that or if he is a particularly good subject for the show. He was caught due to his own gullibility and long after his killing career had come to an end. In fact he defied all profiling norms in that he just stopped killing and didn't go back to it. We will know that they won't be catching him.

Really enjoyed this season. They've done a good job of actually putting Douglas' autobiography into an intelligent television show. The BTK stuff was annoying to me at first but I'm realizing it is showing through one example what was going on in real life while these guys were just starting to realise what "serial killers" were.

Started out well then became redundant. Not exactly sure where they are going with this series but, I'm not sure there are many seasons that you can pull out of this. 3/5
