Trek wreck for the proles , a perverse abysmal abomination of all things Trek ... and this is acceptable science fiction fare?

I see no sign of Gene's hopeful vision of the future in this version.Only the promise of a long protracted war with the Klingons. They have gone to dark with it.

Someone should tell star trek sound in space and gravity without mass doesnt exist. Id at least like a light explanation on the gravity bit. The sound part is just sacrificing truth for dummy food and cannot be explained away in any capacity though.

Overall not impressed so far. I like the spaceships from a design perspective. I like the make up of the alien characters although with one caveat, the Klingons look pretty nasty like a whole other species now!!! Perhaps they should have called them Bingons to differentiate them from previous Star Trek's. Casting and on screen time seems strangely very imbalanced towards the females within the crew. Leaves the question in front of mind what happened to all the guys in the time period this is set, did they die out as a species? Even though one of the females appears to have adopted a male name this does not make up for the imbalance. I've successfully completed three episodes and will hang in there to see if they can turn this around.

Abysmal failure at an attempt of a Star Trek franchise. This should be at the bottom of the murk along with Deep Space Nine & Enterprise. Voyager was the last true original classic in the franchise--no holds barred. Reeks disgustingly of the far left feminazi/drag 'em by the ears until they join us--agenda. Stupendously disappointed.

Well after reading the comments and seeing recent reports, I can only safely conclude three things. 1) It has special effects similar to recent Star Trek movies. 2) toasterfraker is this show's snarky replier. 3) The show's cast has already gone political (of sorts). Looks like I'll need to watch to find out for myself :) I'll be back.

The show seems fine in and of itself, but as far as Star Trek goes, stop with the prequels. Let's move on to the events after DS9 and Voyager

Very good series, visually it is of a much better quality than all the previos ones, the designs, the cgi, everything is great. Michael is hot and I would certainly date... Well, if it doesn´t sound right to you, it doesn´t to me either. I would really like Star trek left out of the PC/gender/sjw crap. I read how they chose the name and I quote "This is how we see women in the future", well, I guess I will stop watching and go have dinner with my wife John (see ? it just doesn´t work), Crap. I just can´t get over it, the name is really annoying. Also, that every new series now is like an episode of Barney or the Power Rangers. I am no racist (I am a latino), but if producers are going to be so politically Correct I am still missing a native american, an Innuit and a gay guy (Zulu is gay in the new movie franchise) in the crew. Just saying. Hey, and maybe throw in a Mexican or a Chilean, at least there was someone from Buenos Aires in Starship Troopers. Just kidding, it IS a great show, but honestly the multi race, gender inclusion/merging crap (even if it is just with a name) seems forced, I am still trying to get over Johnny Storm being the black brother of a white sue storm (Fantastic 4).

if i may ask wheres the prime directive, i havent even heard it mentioned yet. They are already screwed it up already with that animal they used as a navigater. And with the dumb looking klingons, whats up that, plus the plot is really thin, and the acting stinks. i think leonard nimoy would turn in grave on this supposed series.

For the Star Trek purest this tough to watch. We're being asked to jump on board another prequel that has boxed themselves in story wise to the point where they almost HAD to break canon and go for a JJ universe-B type reality where technology, species design and ships seem a 100 years out of place. Our hero is a mentally damaged mutinous hot head that frankly doesn't deserve a redemption arc! She switched the phaser to kill, she martyred TKuvma. She can't even follow through with her own plan without sabotaging it. She should never have been given a Starfleet commission, much less advanced to the position of 1st officer! No hate in my heart, would have said the same if it was Jason Isaacs instead of SMG as the lead. The writing was just bad! The sound FX were a mix of TOS and TNG sounds shotgun blasted into our ear holes as if they were fishing for us to individually ID a sound we could recognize and feel happy! The visuals are the best thing about this show and they are pushing 10 years old (Star Trek 2009)! Not much left to say!
