Thank you, thank you! Have been waiting patiently for this show. UPDATE: Wasn't really worth the wait. I'm on episode four, but besides the acting by Tim Roth, the show is very disappointing. Will finish it though and hopefully change my mind and be pleasantly surprised.

Very good show. Confusing for large periods as vital revelations are made late on, but patience is rewarded. Only real criticism is the depiction of an alcoholic as someone who turns into some kind of badass who gets things done when drunk, rather than just falling asleep and pissing themself.

I think that this is a really good thriller, a kind of magnificently choreographed dance macabre.

Takes a few episodes to really get going, but very good once it does. Ended up binge watching in a day.

Only into episode 2, but so far so really good. It has the big emotion one expects from the UK, the beauty of the Canadian setting, and an American pace with a good bit of shock factor and well, admittedly, the violence. I hope the writing lives up to my expectations, but I don't see how this police chief is going to affect change with just his bare hands (that would be impressive, though!). Release the Kraken, Chief!

I lasted for four episodes, Roth couldn't save this dribble, yet it's. been renewed for a second season.

I had high expectations when I saw Tim Roth is in this show, but I won't be going past the first episode. For me, it has many faults.

I for one really enjoyed this show , the intense grittiness , the character development. Dont listen to the negative comments. I really found this series to be an enjoyable ride right to the finish!

It's about time a drama series focused on the heinous fucking oil industry; even if it is full of satire it drives home the point that drilling kills all beauty and all hope and all health. May the car and oil industries die a bloody, vile death.

not bad but not great either. Tim Roth, his wife, Cristina Hendricks and the dude from Hell on Wheels were good acting wise but the story seemed choppy and jumpy at times. don't know if it was the script or the director/editing, but it didn't flow real well a lot of the time imo. plus I don't know who they hired but this series had some of the most grating, annoying music you've ever heard in your life. it grew somewhat tolerable as the series went on, but first few eps it was so distracting it ruined the show for me (sounded like fireworks going off at times, you have to hear it to believe it ). add in a lot of plot holes to the mix and there you go. overall 5 out of 10

A bit slow at times but overall mind blowingly weird and good, specially the end.

snooze fest 1/5, even funnier are all the British accents for a Canadian show

Backwards, it spells RATS NIT. :) First, watch this series if ONLY for the performance by Christina Hendricks in the final episode. She KILLS IT! It's so satisfying. But then, you're also appalled at her. You just have to see everything...OK, I stand by my first review. This series has its little problems, but overall it's exciting and emotional, and the scenery is gorgeous. My take-away is more of a question: Must we resort to the most vile, horrid, destructive, and inhumane behaviors in order to protect ourselves from our enemies with the same proclivities? It's certainly more relative at this time in my life than ever before. Heavy stuff but give this a try and ignore the occasional choppiness. Oh, that annoying, WRETCHED music that's toooo overbearing eps 1 and 2 will finally stop; however, the violin screeching will make more subtle appearances throughout, representing well the ugliness all around. But there *are* some good songs during the last minutes and rolling credits of the episodes - even a funny one or two. Watch this and rate it!

If you are willing to forgive some unlogical choices that the main characters sometimes make, it will be a great watch. At first i thought Tim Roth's acting was dull and had no inspiration but as the story unfolds that changes. And what started out a bit dull and goofy actualy became a wild and dark ride where no character turns out to be who you think they are.Not amongst the best shows out there but very, very entertaining.

A very puzzling series. I ask myself why did Jack lay down and let the bikies kick the sh** out of him, why did he let the husband of the woman he was with beat the crap out of him, why did they bury that guys body when she was going to torch the house and best of all why did the wife give the daughter the rifle at the cottage. Bad acting and an implausible story line. Not worth watching.

I had low expectations about the premise of this series - alcoholic unleashes his darker side to exact revenge - but after the mid-season reveal of the true nature of his past it got a lot better. You see a shift in perception about who is the bad guy and who the real victims are. It is far from perfect and some of the plotting was a bit contrived but the finale was well crafted. 8 out of 10 p.s did anyone else get a strong Lives of Others (2006) feel from the Quebecois in his attic.

I don't like Tim Roth, never have. His expressions at certain moments don't make sense. Roth plays a man who kinda has an alter ego, when he drinks he becomes violent, l don't want to give anything away but several of the people who posted about this show didn't seem to pick that up or grasp that fact. He has a past that has now caught up to him. This is a good show and l just wish Tim Roth was not in it. I like this show it is a good show.
