I hate the fraternity of COPS. They are brainwashed that they need to lie and be against Americans. There is this ideology among them that they are a family and its them against us. Also I have personally witnessed them execute a search warrant. They did the same thing the cops in this program did they destroyed and ransacked my buddies whole house looking for something. Logic tells me that if you want to find something you go through every object set it outside and go to the next item. That way when the job is done if it turns out the person is innocent they can put everything back no harm no foul. But they dont they trash everything. They dumped out all the garbage's onto the living room floor. They are scum even the minority of cops that actually want to be fair are bullied into acting like animals. Now they dress like soldiers, have their own Patches with skulls and other intimidated items. Similar to special forces colors "patches" to show they are bad ass. Why would civil servants tasked with protecting and serving need to intimidate those they are to protect? They need an over all wash out and upgrade of mentality and discipline. We the people deserve to be treated like the humans we are before and through any court proceedings. Innocent until found guilty right!!!

This documentary series proves the point never judge before you hear the whole story. It's TRUE crime at it's finest or saddest whatever way you want to look at it. If you are looking for something fast paced with a bunch of action in it then this isn't for you. Unless you are the type that is going to want to watch 8 hours of talking & crime investigation best to pass it on by.I am glad I watched it , those 8 hours actually have 10 years packed into them. If you don't know about the story going in to this, my advice would be don't look it up before hand!

What happened to Steven Avery is a lot more common than people think. The state has become so large and powerful that they can pretty much send anyone they choose to prison and if everyone finds out years later that the person was innocent, the people who are responsible for wrongly convicting an innocent person pays absolutely no consequences. After Steve Avery was exonerated with DNA evidence 18 years after his wrongful conviction, no one who helped put him there was fired, no one was demoted, no one was criminally charged, no one was disbarred, no one was reprimanded, no one was forced into early retirement, no one was even suspended. So they have no incentive to make sure they are being fair and doing things properly. In fact there's a bigger incentive to cut corners and get a quick arrest and procure quick guilty verdicts. Conviction rates and number of arrests wins elections for DA's and promotions for detectives and police officers. What they do is no longer about seeking justice or protecting the public. It's about winning, it's about boosting their public profile, it's about amassing power, it's about career advancement. Prosecutors brag the most about convictions they were able to win with little to no evidence. If they are truly seeking justice, winning a case with little to no evidence would sicken them. But in their world it's a testament to how great they are at their job, and how clever they are at wielding state power. That's why I believe true justice can never exist among the darkness of power and personal gain. This is an amazing series but I get more and more upset as each episode unfolds.

The only DNA evidence was contaminated. The house did not look clean and neither did the garage....if they cleaned out all the DNA the house should have been spotless.....and Steven only left his DNA...come on...these Jurors have to be more intellectually challenged that poor Brenden

Here in WI, almost everyone says Manitowoc County Sheriffs are corrupt as hell! This is weighing heavy on my heart, I live 30 min away and everyone here thought he was guilty until now! My coworker said when she was 18 the same detectives who questioned Brendan kept her in an unmarked car for 4 hours yelling at her that they knew she was guilty! #freestevenavery

Riveting true crime story with twists and turns at every angle. I am a huge fan of the podcast "Serial" and this has a similar pace. Engrossing and at times, just plain heartbreaking. Well produced without flash and unnecessary narration. Trial testimony and witness interviews paint the picture here.

Just once I want these interrogators to ask, 'Which one of you used the blood to paint a big portrait of Jesus on the ceiling?' and when the guy says, 'Oh, it was Mike.' then you can safely say the interrogation is corrupted because the person is simply giving you the answers you want to hear. There is no way they slit this woman's throat in a bedroom, cut all her hair off, shot her in the head and left no trace of her in that bedroom. Dassey simply told a complete fictional account. How in 2016 is there not a foolproof procedure for exposing a false confession by planting completely impossible memories into an interrogation? Like, 'Who put the Easter bunny costume in the grave with her?' and really press and press until the person admits his friend put an Easter bunny costume in a grave with a dead body. Obviously if you can manipulate a person like that then everything they say is suspicious.

Not one bit suprised that this happens. We live afterall in a society where poor people who steal gets convicted to prison sentances that span for decades while rich people who rob an entire economy gets to retire on some island in the carribean. Whistle blowers get charged with treason and put in jail and murderers get swept under the rug and kept safe. As a swedish person, reading daily on how our society is deteriorating we can atleast get some comfort in the thought that we don't live in the US the home of corporate crooks and trigger happy cops.

I think the most significant takeaway from this documentary is that neither Steven Avery nor Brendan Dassey ever received a fair trial. Lady Justice is aways depicted as blindfolded because justice is supposed to be objective, impartial, and unbiased. However, the Manitowoc Police Department, investigators, state prosecutors, and media ensured that the potential jury pool would be convinced of Avery's and Dassey's guilt long before they ever stepped foot in a courtroom.

Do you want your blood to boil? ....then watch this. By the last episode, i realized my jaw was locked open in shock and awe.... There's no big reveal or twist, this just makes you think about so many things. There were many moments where my eyes watered with hope, because of the way a person reacts, or is defiant in the face of all despair.

This cannot be fictional because no writer in his right mind will write a story with no redeemable characters. Almost every police, judge, expert witness and lawyer are corrupt or without conscience, it would be an absolutely unbelievable story. This is horror reality TV because it will happen to you.

Ex-DA Ken Kratz's law license suspended in sexting scandal. Check it out...addiction to sex and prescription drugs played key roles in the behavior. Makes me wonder if he was using when lawyering this case.

I am truly awestruck at the blatant lies, ineptitude and corruption shown in this docuseries. People, this is our American "justice" system at work. This could happen to you, me or anyone. Beware!

You hear so often Americans saying that, "We have the best justice system in the world." This based solely on: that is what I was taught...that's what they say on television..... The United States has a horrible justice system with more innocent people imprisioned everyday. I live in Italy where too many guilty live outside of jail/prison......however I prefer a system with too many guilty outside of jail (99% non - violent crimes mind you ) than innocent in prison like we have in every one of our 50 states. You can tell by the calibre of the individuals involved in this story including the poor brother of the victim that a true intellectual logical rational and comprehensive perspective is absent ..... Every encounter I've had with the justice sytem in the US has involved police abusing their authority and me getting off because of my connections...Never was held for anything too serious but I could still smell the terrible stench of the broken rotten system we have even from a holding cell...The only non Readers Digest Early Bird Special Fox News types in this story were Steven's defense team....Most Americans are extremely conservative when it comes to their interpretation of how law should be enforced...Every cop today still thinks he's a 9/11 soldier of sorts ......and knows that the sound bites will always defend them for their hard work and sacrifice...which they nonetheless are Paid for. This is a story of the American Justice system which incarcerates tens of thousands of innocent individuals to keep the machine running......Explain to me why we elect judges and sheriffs and Prosecutors? I don't believe Americans realise how backwards our system is......I have been nauseous ever since I started watching this series 5 days ago....this is disgusting Case......Write emails and letters to All involved.......Wisconsin ...... Is the worst...

How hard can it be to see all the flawed evidence and methods to blame this case to avery. It was pretty clear. And this pros. attorney is so dumb.

Wow this story just beggars belief! It's so transparently flawed in countless ways, in fact it's the modern equivalent of confession under torture. I'm shocked that the system is, at best so blind, at worst corrupt to the core :(
