The Curse of Oak Island: In the North Atlantic is a mysterious, and possibly booby-trapped island that has fired the imagination of treasure hunters for more than 200 years. Oak Island could be hiding one of the greatest treasures in history, but no one has ever been able to crack the code of how to get at it. Fortunes have been spent and lives have been lost. A prophecy says that seven people will die before the treasure is found, and six have died in various accidents already. In the new series THE CURSE OF OAK ISLAND, two brothers from Michigan will take new technology and old-fashioned knowhow and attempt to discover what's buried there once and for all.

It's most boys dreams to dig for buried treasure. These grown arse men get to do it for real. You can't help but be entertained by it.

I watch not expecting them to find anything, but I'm on the edge of my seat when they dredge, dig, and drill. Some good laughs, lots of alternate history accounts, and some derp moments. For what the show is, 7/11 stars.

I like the way they are using oil rig equipment to get around the excavation flooding problem - cool way to do it. Even if there's no treasure, lots of historical/archeology interest in this place. Good show

I've been watching this show from the beginning and I love it. The story behind it and the mystery of it all is intriguing and pulls you in, even if the ''curse'' is hogwash. Rick and Marty seem like the nicest guys and you find yourself hoping they find a treasure of some sort! They might find gold or traditional treasure of some kind but the Ark of the Covenant? 100% never. The only thing about this show that gets annoying is the narrator's redundant double questions - ''Human bone? 168 feet down borehole 8?'' I'm left wondering every week which two questions the narrator will throw together next.

I rly hope they find treasure on Oak Island, the story has always intrigued me. However I think the way this is going to end is by... the final death in the legend will happen, the 92 year old guy will pass away from natural causes, and the "treasure" is going to be how so many people came together, made new friends and had fun trying to figure this all out.

Booking a road trip to Oak Island next summer, about a 10 hour drive, should be fun! - Great show btw, I just wish they would find something! Finding out about the history of it, is very entertaining as well 5/5

Really we have to take the show as is and be very happy with it, YES it could be better, but they own the island and the only ones who have rights filming and doing things there. So to fill that Oak Island craving or just answers to a mystery they followed all there lives or maybe 4 some its there personal life work trying to figure it out but don't have access to the island...this show is the only way to get that info other than 20-30 yr old YouTube videos and a few books written buy those close to the island.TY show 4 being there:)

The main thing I like about this show is all the history and legends behind everything they find along the way. I am really interested in seeing them go through all of this trying to find this 'treasure'. I'm very interested in knowing if something is there or not but at the same time I can't help but think all this is done only for profit and it shouldn't be imo. Only time will tell but great show tho. I'd like to see a curse or two come to light.

I hope Dan Blankenship will be back next season, and many more. He deserves to see the day of discovery - even if its many more years until it's fully recovered.

I don't understand why they have to ruin things with adding their own * Stay Tuned Until The Next* tidbits why cant they just keep it rolling like it is naturally. I love a good mystery/puzzle/clue/hidden treasure story, I think it helps with getting your circulation flowing as you sit on the edge of your seat when they discover something and you cant quit make out what it is so you find yourself moving in closer to the screen for a better look but then.....Bam! they hit you with the " What the heck just happened!....whats going on!...what happened to the camera??...where did the picture go??...oh well I guess we have to wait for the next episode to find out...and then all of a sudden its back on for the next 45 minutes....until the next cliff hanger :( As I said we all like the mystery but please spare us the extra man made drama.

Watching the newest season (2017) I am beginning to lose hope that anything of significant value will be found on the island. I really am as fascinated with this mystery today as when I read about it in a book on world mysteries in the elementary school library. I watch every episode and will continue to watch every episode. I applaud the efforts of the Lagina's. They have done a fantastic job and the amount of time and money they have put into further exploration is amazing. As the seasons go by and explorations continue I am more and more disheartened. Objects have been found on the island during the course of the series including a Spanish coin and other objects dating to the time of the island's colonial inhabitants. The problem I have had with the Oak Island Mystery, since my first learning of it many moons ago, is that so many of the substantial pieces of 'evidence' to support the basis of the mystery no longer exist. One of the most cited artifacts is the supposed '90 foot stone' with strange inscriptions. The stone has not been seen in many years. No photographs exist of it. There are bits and pieces of to where it may be, or was in the past, which were explored in an episode. If you were part of the dig team on Oak Island and discovered a stone with a secret code on it how could it come to be that you would let it slip away? Also the fragment of parchment and bits of gold chain no longer exist. I believe that these critical pieces of evidence were either caught in the drill near the surface (parchment and chain) or fabricated (the stone) and heavily promoted to lure more money and tourism to Oak Island. If you thoroughly research the tale of the discovery of the original money pit there are several different versions, none of which were written at the time of the discovery. In one of the stories a block and tackle was found hanging from a tree by two boys. In other versions there is no tree or tackle and it is located by men living on the island at the time. A person or group buries this treasure, creates an intricate flooding system (which is almost certainly the result of the cavernous nature of the limestone under the island) and leaves a tackle block hanging over the hole? I also have a hard time believing that hundreds of years ago a group of people dug down over 100 feet on a tiny island to bury a treasure. They would have certainly known they would hit water at some point. The amount of earth they would have had to remove and replace would be absolutely astonishing, not to mention the huge amount of timber they would have had to use to reinforce the hole. I do believe that the island was visited by pirates, soldiers, sailors and others during the last hundreds of years but I don't believe there is anything left of what may have been there. There are still many mysterious things about the island, such as the swamp, which looks certainly made by human hands but this series has shown that years of well funded exploration with the latest technology has failed to find anything. I really hope my desperation, that increases with each episode, turns to elation one day.

Ever since this show began they have always said that 6 people have died looking for the treasure, and 1 more must die before it is found. In this newest season the 'Fred Nolan' guy passed away. Doesn't that mean they should find the treasure by the end of this season??...according to the 'legend' anyways.

how can this show be on so many years? its like looking for bigfoot in the same acre of land for years. the treasure is about as real as unicorns or any other myth. might as well dig a big hole in your backyard

been watching from the beginning and i love the show, started out as a fascinating treasure hunt with interesting history and theories. finished ep 7 of season 5 and its turned into so much more, its now about two bothers risking it all to find the truth of oak island. they have found more treasure and artifacts then anyone else they have uncovered more history and theories then anyone else, its a very interesting show if you can get over the narrator.

RGLozon, where do you come up with your info? Oak trees are indigenous to the entire northern hemisphere, with the US having the most species in North America, which is 90 species. Only China has more, over 110 species. There is an old saying "Those who think they know everything are annoying those of us who do". Do a little research before spouting off next time....
