Been debating watching this for a while, loved the movie and I know the show is far more serious in a sense, it being a soap anyway. But is this show even worth watching before Barnabas shows up?

Jonathon Frid first appeared in the 211th episode on 18 April 1967. There were 1245 episodes in all going from Jun. 27, 1966 to Apr. 2, 1971. Frid appeared in 594 episodes. In the last 27 he appeared as Bramwell Collins the son of Barnabas and Josette Collins in the 'Parallel Time' world. The Bramwell Collins character was created to accomodate a request from Jonathan Frid, who asked to play a second character on the show.

Sorry... but am I missing something here? I don't believe I ever saw Frid or Laura Parker in any of these... Do we need more links?

not my cup of tea because it is a soap opera but i do remember my mom watching this when i was young. Many thanks for uploading this as it brings back some nice memories. I also remember that a feature film was made back in the sixties featuring the soap cast.

Hopefully we can get more episodes up, I love this show. I have actually come to terms with the fact that Dark Shadows is one of those stand alone classics that isbjust difficult to repeat. I don't think they should do anymore remakes of it IMO.

Hollywood is stuck in the endless repeat loop when do we actually get some new orginal films.. all are remakes or sequels.

The new Tim Burton movie looks like crap anyways.. all his movies are the same. It looks like Edward Scissorhands.

I can't say I'm a fan of the original, for obvious reasons, but I do like the revival that came out in the 90's.
