you know what i find kinda funny? is that cannabis is actually better for you then alcohol, but cannabis is illegal and alcohol isnt. it doesnt really make much sense.

This wouldn't be an issue if parents could just beat their kids.

Great idea, great show. They definitely need something like this here in the UK. Kids over here get away with murder (literally).

I cant believe they let these lil punks interact with the inmates like that because the way they are disrespecting them if they do end up getting locked up and they run into the inmate they disrespected they will get jumped. cant wait to see a follow up story of how one of these dweebs got stabbed up for acting a fool on the show.

What happened to the prison/coroner office trip? I was signed up for the Juvenile Intervention Program in southern California back in middle school. And yes we straight ate at the prison, got yelled at by the prisoners, saw the hole, showers, yard, holding tanks....etc. Then got transported next door to the coroners office to watch a sad video of suicide and stupidity. Passed family members in the lobby that were probably there to collect their loved one's possessions, or to identify. We were then led to the back past an odtopsy being done on a poor man's skull...and dead fire fighters in the hallway that died in that morning's helicopter crash. Then 2 by 2 looked into the overly crowded freezer...clearly being notified by officers that the little white bags were the young ones...we then went back to the jail to talk to our parents through the telephone. messed up right?? i still didn't learn anything at the time, it was just a day off of school. people can only grow up when they want to.

I like this show, it's funny to watch the kids reactions to being in prison. Some of these kids actually benefit from the experience, even if it is overdramatized a bit. I don't think I would've taken the program seriously, but some kids who actually do dangerous activities might have a wake up call.

I love this show its a shame Britain does have such programs to help but our youths straight. But in saying that British prisons are like holiday camps compared to the ones in the U.S. its about time our goverment looked at this & made our prisons stricter

This kind of thing can put little spoilt 'wannabes' on the straight n narrow, but the hopeless hardcore, will always fill up the prisons.

This sounds interesting, I've never needed a program like that and I would probably laugh the whole time. If people ever got overly agressive and tried to scare me I'll just think it's funny because people don't act like that. I could care less about someone's past and why they're in prison, I'll worry about them if I ever go there. It'll be some laughs looking at these kids squirm in front of prisoners.

I went to a scared straight program when I was younger I changed because of me not them they actually made it worse for the better part of my young life not to mention I have severe ADHD instead of trying to help they threw the book at me this went on from when I was 11-17 yrs of age and in the end before I turned 18 I had to fix my self without help with my common sense not theirs every situation is different though so I cannot judge either however within this show they only reveal the kind of children that this program may help not every child that has to go through with it the ones they want you to see but the people who decide the youth deserve to experience prison to frighten them they don't always have the best interest of the kids they do the job they have to not the job they should and a have a responsibility to do children are smarter then they portray them to be on this show this is one small segment in which the kids are judged by people who watch scared straight TV crap. Not all judge but still this is about as bad a gimmick as Dr.Phil OR EVEN WILKOS lol

It is a shame that in the U.K. this wouldn't work. As prisons are nice comfortable places due to the Human Rights Laws of the E.U. Now if they wanted to scare teens, show them Retirement Homes.
