The best way to describe this is if you took a bunch of lifetime writers, made them watch Blackhawk down, and then told them to write this series. That is why they spend half of each episode showing the struggle the poor wives go through sitting at home. Then they have brief action scenes that are unrealistic followed by long periods of feeling sharing by soldiers that seem like they belong in a gay night club more than a war zone. If you are a chick or a soy boy clueless about the actual situation described by real soldiers then you will probably say this series is great. This really focuses on the feelings in a way that someone who has never researched a real soldiers recount of battle would describe it.

I rarely comment, but I feel that this will help out those looking for a replacement military show; it’s based on true events and in my opinion is a great show. The first episode will have you hooked the suspense is like if you were there with them, unpredictable feeling portraying war as realistic as possible but in a cinematic form, it is unbelievable that the directors captured the essence of how everyone felt during the Iraqi war from the home life to the battlefield even the enemy and I hope this show go on for at least 5 seasons.

Considering the frequency that American soldiers actually get hit by bullets in this series I call massive BS on the "True story" part. Hardly any injuries or killed from a point blank ambush taken by the element of suprise by high caliber automatic weapons... Right. If you believe in this series you're dumb. It's another American superman soldier serie.

I believe in peace, not war. Any movies, films, stories of war will only continue to promote war, even if, indirectly. I am sure there have been millions of other personal stories from around the world since the Diary of Anne Frank, that have greater and more horrific impact. War kills, watching movies about its horrors and tragedies hasn't stopped a single bullet from killing! There are no victors in any war, only victims. They say, there's a 'high cost to peace'; yes there is, this cost is in the trillions of dollars our world spends on armaments per year. Gee, I can only wonder about the true cost of peace, without wars.

so hilarious the beginning of the regular seasons, it's usually an avalanche of testosterone dramas (cops, army, swat). <eye roll>
