About Me:

I'm into watching British/UK t.v./movies these days. I used to love watching Keeping Up Appearances and As Time Goes By on PBS, but I craved more! So glad I found this site where I have the opportunity to indulge myself. I'm open to suggestions if there's something you've watched and enjoyed. Thanks!

12/15 Just completed LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX. Don't let the odd name fool you. I put this on the back burner thinking it was going to be a dud, mostly because of the title. This show appears to be slow moving, but it really has quite a lot going on. One of my favorite British actresses, Nicola Walker, is in it. I'm looking forward to the release of season 4! Highly recommend.

11/15 watched WEEDS - Loved the entire series!

9/15 Currently watching: HOMELAND. I'm watching this mainly for Damian Lewis. I loved him in Life and I can tell already he is just as fabulous in Homeland. Ok, I've watched the first season and the show has some pluses and minuses. First, Brody's entire family annoys the hell out of me, makes it difficult to watch. I enjoyed Carrie at first, until she went bat shit crazy and that took all the realism out of the show for me. I doubt I will make it through all of the seasons, unless I am extremely bored. Too many holes in the plot and unnecessary annoying characters that serve no purpose. The plus is great acting by Damian Lewis and Claire Danes, the storyline, not so much.
UPDATE: All caught up on HOMELAND and .. I LOVE Homeland! However, it can be very irritating .. but in a good way? I've made some 'negative' comments on some of the episodes, but only because I love the show so much! The main character, Carrie, is quite the contradiction, and because of how good she is portrayed she can get on your last nerve! I would, however, highly recommend the show. It is so spot on as far as what is going on in the world today and it gives a wider perspective of the events.

9/15 Watched: EPISODES (yup, that's the name). Interesting take of the development of transitioning a British hit show into an American tv show. Nice combination of British and American humor. Fantastic show! Get through the first few episodes, you will be glad you did. It starts off rather stuffy with an old fashioned British feel to it, but after a few episodes, picks up speed and actors/characters/plot really take off. Love the sarcasm and dry humor of this show, great writing and acting. Superb! Right up there with House of Lies! I never really cared for Matt LeBlanc, but he really flexes his acting muscles in this show! Give it a try!

8/15 Just finished watching: HOUSE OF LIES. One of the best shows out there. I highly recommend watching this. Great character development all the way. I wouldn't say this is a laugh out loud comedy, but it certainly has many moments of humorous situations and definitely brings out many emotions. 5/5

British shows I have also recently watched:

London Spy - Good mini-series with intrigue
Cuffs - So disappointed they cancelled this show. I thought it was good and had potential.
Last Tango in Halifax - Nice family drama
River - Awesome
Unforgotten - Brilliant (River and Unforgotten have my favorite British actress, Nicola Walker)
Ordinary Lies - Interesting how they focus on one individual per episode
Critical - I'm undecided about this one. Got to episode 3 and bailed, but may go back if I'm bored. I liked the futuristic feel of the surgeries, but it was definitely lacking character development.
Chewing Gum - F*cking hilarious !! Crude, but funny!

Shetland - Loved it!
Shameless (prefer the UK over US version)
Scott & Bailey
Mad Fat Diary
The Inbetweeners
Vicar of Dibley
As Time Goes By
Keeping Up Appearances
Happy Valley
Chasing Shadows
The Code
