Ah, here are the books about AP: Adventures Beyond the Body: How to experience Out-of-Body Travel by William Buhlman; Soul Traveler by Albert Taylor; The Out-of-Body Experience by Anthony Peake; and then I've also read quite a few books about dreaming. Robert Moss, an author, writes extensively about dreaming and dreams and what you.
It's hard for me to say whether or not sleep paralysis is necessary for one to experience AP, since I've never actually APed myself. I mean it's possible that the world one experiences in sleep paralysis, although it looks extremely similar to the physical world, isn't in fact the same the world or reality; yet because it looks so similar, it's merely mistaken as the physical world.
In the few books that I have read, and in the resources online that I've come across, apparently smoking cigarettes can prevent one from actually APing; not only smoking cigarettes, but wine, too, and other mind altering substances. It makes sense, too, just because smoking cigarettes affects the lungs, and breathing plays such a major role in relaxation.
I could speculate extensively about AP, dreaming and lucid dreaming, and the dreamworld or alternative reality. You are right, it's almost if not a feedback loop; that is, our experience in the physical world effects our experience in the dreamworld, and vice-versa. To me, both worlds seem equally important. And, at least for the time being, it seems that we as a species have exhausted our capabilities of exploring the physical world and neglected exploring the inner-world or dreamworld, which, as you pointed out, is one-third of our experience, a significant chunk of our lives. Considering that, I think we'd greatly benefit from exploring the dreamworld and analyzing our experiences therein. It's almost as if one world is emerging out of the other, like how cells replicate by dividing themselves. It's almost as if we are part of two worlds instead of one. Or perhaps there's only one world, and since we're hardwired to perceive difference, it only seems like two separate worlds. Anyhow, I wonder if our experience of two worlds instead of one is even 'natural'? Or rather, I wonder if it's 'healthy' and not, say, a 'side-effect' or 'sympton' of being 'off course', 'off balance', 'out of line' or 'out of order'. Likewise, the dreamworld could be the origin of the physical world, and at the moment of the big bang, if the big bang even actually happened, the balance between both worlds shifted and reality itself inverted. Again, you are totally right; we know so little about anything at all, even though we would like to believe otherwise, and I believe our neglect of this aspect of reality -- one-third of our existence -- is one of many causes of that. Additionally, our perception(s) of the waking world are no more valid than our perception(s) of the dreamworld or AP world, and vice-versa.
I'm so curious, what was the AP world like? Can you describe your experience or perception for me?

Great wall post. Mutant and Proud! +k How've you been? Im never in the chat when everyone else is anymore.
Thanks for the friend request. Gladly accepted.
Thanks for the welcome~!
I'm glad you got over the fear bit.
I wish I was a natural. I've only ever experienced sleep paralysis once, years and years ago, and it was fucking terrifying, probably because I had no idea what was going on. I really wonder if it would still be as frightening now, considering what I know about it, as it was back then. Likewise, I've never actually experienced astral projection, or at least out of body astral projection. I have read a couple of books on the subject matter, just because I find the subject absolutely fascinating. Unfortunately, too, I've only ever had one lucid dream :.( But astral projection is definitely something I plan on attempting again, but only once I've quit smoking. The ability would indeed be handy.
Personally, I feel like the dreamworld and waking world are two degrees of teh same spectrum. I mean, reality never ends or begins. It's one constant flow, so I wouldn't at all be surprised if some of your dreams have manifested, as new-agey as that sounds lol
Have you ever actually APed before?
Thanks for the KArma, by the way
I here you mates! dont worry about messages being too long! long or short its always good to hear from you!
one thing you should do is get your water tested - im serious, big business has been dumping chemicals in the water supplies all round the world for decades!
ahhhhhh, nm, i know what you were referring to now, about the entity comment. sooo, have you yourself ever been able to astral project?
i'm glad you got a laugh out of it i swear, though, it's true.
