A classic among movies about overcoming the differences between the older and younger generations while dealing with different prejudices, in a society torn apart by social conflict and stereotypes. The film offers a wide cast of characters whose great acting is compeling,at times very moving and believable. With Sydney Poiter's outstanding performance as the struggling teacher, we can step into his shoes and sympathize with his character's challenges throughout the movie.Wonderful soundtrack and timely lessons for everyone who watches this.It had a profound affect on me in the 1970's when I was a teenager and influencing the direction of my choices in education, still remaining a favorite today.

I think Sidney Poitier was fabulous. A really, really good movie and one that so many movies tried to follow but failed in comparison.

Despite Poiter being a wooden, overrated actor, this movie WAS totally gripping. And of course the deliverance of To Sir with Love is an epic which will forever by etched in our consciences.

I remember our teacher's made us watch this in school. Maybe they were tired of getting beat up, and reconstructive surgeries. 3 - 5 stars.
