I have read all three. Weak plot. Well written descriptive wise. Its mostly this: sex sex sex...random stuff...sex sex sex..book two...sex sex sex...random stuff random stuff...sex sex sex...book three...sex sex sex..random stuff random stuff..sex sex sex...random stuff FINALLY makes sense..sex sex..the end of trilogy. The last 20% of book three was the best plot wise. Also, who has that much sex, that many times in one day, every day? Even though the plot was weak, it was still written well, some psychology research was obviously done so time and effort was put in to that, and it was worth a one time read. I do not see how they could make an acutal theatre movie out of this book. It would be rated XXX. Maybe an HBO or Cinemax or Showtime made for tv mini-series would be better?

Don't hate what you haven't read or like, to each their own, the books were great! couldn't put them down and can't wait for the movie to come out. At first i didn't think i'd ever read them, then i read a few chapters online and was hooked and wanted to read more had to get all 3 books. The movie can't get here fast enough!!!

Why anyone would read this? not mentioning watching this doc ro whatever it is? Personally, I haven't read the book, and never will! and To be honest- this thing- Should not even be called a book in the first place! Like the comments bellow state- nothing new here! I think the society is becoming too open... and we still wonder why teens are becoming weirdly obsessed with sex from the age of 12! xD damn!

Would much rather read a book with a good story instead of pages and pages and pages of sex. Avid readers always say it's just filler when an author takes 5 or 6 pages in her story to plop down an explicit sex scene and then do it again in the next chapter. Easy to write and takes up space. Heaven forbid a great author comes along and writes a fantastic thriller or mystery or supernatural action novel instead of this garbage. Yep. that's my opinion. Lol

Another book pushed by the you know who publishing industry as a manufactured hit. Pablum of the worst kind.

these books are horrible , and anyone defending them is illiterate . not only is the plot stupid but the grammar and punctuation is atrocious.

I agreed with some of it, but i think the people interviewed missed the point about the books vastly. And i would go as far as to say some havent read it fully. Its about self exploration of levels on both sides. It is also not portraying BDSM in its full form its touching on it getting stonger each time. Maybe if people stopped analysing and enjoyed reading. The books are brilliant and should be read by men and women alike. And not all women are the subs may I add. ;) I found myself arguing with a few interviewies.

JHC ... the gawd damn world has gone crazy. Why watch hard core porn when you can now read about it? S&M has come out of the closet and landed smack on your bedside table. Lets see them censor kids from reading this, hah, not likely!

I have never read the books. I adore reading but i dont want to read a book about abuse .I do adore authors like Christine Freehan and Laurel K Hamilton. If i were bored to tears perhaps i would read her work. This documentery was very informitive.Mommy Porn made me giggle though speaking from someone who has no children no desire for them and cant have them any way.To each their own and good job to the woman who wrote the book series wish them good luck with future endevors.

They are pretty good books. I think people over think things still. People worry about what others think of them. I am sure the author is having a hard time adjusting to this. It's nice to see that freedom of speech is alive and well, and I am sure she is taking heat for what she wrote. So I guess it's a good thing they sold well, sort of offsets it abit.

in my opinion the reason why this book has generated such a hype is that it reminds us we have the ability to be sensual , its not just the physicality, not just the sensuality, not just the romanticism but the soup of all the ingrediants that makes humans feel they are driven by emotional physical love.If you dont understand this you might still be single or a hater. either way its your choice.Life is short sample everything you might be gone tomorow.

LMFAO! they made a movie about this? xD sooo hilarious.. women that finish a chapter in the book tend to be sexually frustrated and "Horney" afterwards. It's like Viagra only for women.. it's an Epic win for us boys and men. i recommend buying the book for your girlfriends.. you'll know why i recommended it afterwards at night :P

I have been reading erotic books since I was 16 yrs old. Fifty Shades Of Grey wouldn't have been my top pick. I found it repetitive and boring including the sex scenes. I'm glad I didn't pay for the books or I would have returned them back ASAP. However, I would say the writer has an awesome marketing team to be able to market such a book (it passed Harry Potter in sales! Not that Harry Potter was all that great). This must be the age of crappy books because Fifty and Twilight were the worse books ever. I am begging that the next top author be someone who can write a book and not just make sales.

Everyone trashing the book and calling it "bad literature" seems to forget that fact that these "poorly written books" have garnered E L James millions of dollars in sales ;P Sure, it's not for everyone, but if you don't like it, don't read it! And don't trash people, like myself, who HAVE read it and loved it. I loved the basic storyline and Grey's character - he's the kind of guy that women want to "save", yet he's his own strong person (he doesn't take sh*t from anyone). I loved how you see grandmas reading the book out in public :)
